Recorded For Training Purposes submissions for S4 Page 29

Are they still looking for communication sketches?

You'll hear about it before next series. Write some in preparation, but make them f**king good, cos you only get to send two sketches and impress them!

Dan

Ok, swerytd, I know you look like me but you're not my dad!

It's uncanny, isn't it? Though bizarrely I do seem to have a *slightly* fatter head than you...

Dan

The only clue is the description of the upcoming series:

A razor-sharp sketch show about modern communication takes aim at such idiocies of modern life as TV talent show formats and disclaimers at the end of emails.

James Carey is such a good writer (esp Hut 33) so I hope he's still editing...

(By the way, this thread's a bit complicated, isn't it? I've been reading back on it.)

He is indeed, a great writer. And he's a comedy geek as per his blog. Well worth bookmarking if you're serious about this writing malarkey.

Nice one, Dan - that's an ace blog. Some really handy tips from Mr Cary. And congrats on becoming a husband too. :)

Merci boo-coo, DrV.

Two weeks on Saturday my 'freedom' ceases.

Dan

Surely it would be mentioned if we could submit to this by now, as it is on Thursday. As it is not a topical show, my money's on the fact it's already been recorded... This is a pain to all the people on this thread...

It was recorded in March and April.

That's what I thought. How did people know about it though, because there's nothing at BBC Writers' Room, for instance?

That's what I thought. Did you go to the recording, John?

I went to the first recording.

It was a very long process. The deadline for the material was early last October. Then the material recorded March/April.

If they do it again, I imagine they'll put the details up at some point in September. But I'm guessing.

There's nothing there now because it's not a current oppourtunity. If you go to page one of this thread you'll see a link to the original page.

Yes I found that page, but thought it was for an earlier series. I've also noticed that I did submit to this series after all, didn't hear back though.

Actually that James Cary's not all that good, is he...?

Starts tonight!

Has anybody had an email telling them when their material is on? Do we get one? or do we just have to listen and see? (or hear as the case may be).

I was wondering exactly the same thing. Unless we get an email at some point during the day, I guess it'll be the latter.
