Speculation that Matt Smith's going to quit after the next series. Hopefully this story is total balls:

*coughs*bull*coughs*

But, if there is a 12th Doctor soon, imo it's got to be Benedict Cumberbatch or Tom Hollander.

This is why they need to choose an older man for the next Doctor, who'll be happy to stay for a long time.

Alas, Geoffrey Bayldon (86, original choice for the first and second Doctor) and Graham Crowden (87, original choice for the fourth Doctor) are probably too old. Malcolm McDowell (67), probably too busy appearing in as many crap Hollywood films as possible. Perhaps it's time for a female Doctor. James Cotter and David Bussell could be the next companions.

I would venture that men in their eighties are probably too old, yes! And McDowell would be all kinds of wrong.

I doubt you'd ever get a Doctor in his forties, let alone an old Doctor. Nowadays it's youth youth youth. Sad but true.

or Tom Hollander.

Ooh, yes.

They've made the Daleks too big now.
he'd barely be plunger height.

Aww! Good point though.

I'll be up for the main role myself.

Sherlock's getting reviewed on Front Row at the moment. Mark Lawson seems to really love it. I'm looking forward to it a lot now, although it sounds like there's only three episodes.

They're movie length, though. It does look very good.

So how are things on the Sherlock thread?

I see Jane Espenson's writing on the new series of Torchwood. That might even tempt me back.

You're going soft, Griff.

No one goes soft at the prospect of Captain Jack.

*sniggers*

Just watching the Angels two parter again.
I'm mostly looking forward to Graham Norton not being in it this time around
