I think he's just trying to outdo Russell Crowe. Crowe's won acting Oscars that Gibson never will, made a name for himself as 'hellraiser' then had the audacity to be nastier to poms in real life than Gibson has ever been, regardless of his rabidly anti British/English movies. So he pays his beloved ex wife to tape him spouting vile obscenities and he can then phone up Mr Crowe and sneer 'Read the papers you New Zealand pussy.'

I have done neither, it was a 'joke'. Mel Gibson did not write or direct the film. He also didn't portray the actor Shia LeBeouf, who plays the lead in those movies.

Seems a bit daffy. He's been making some increasingly angry and fundamentalist films of late. But being hugely talented they're still entertaining and worth watching, I certainly watch them. They also tie in with some of the more right wing Catholic church groups he joins.
Russell Crowe is just a talented, charismatic actor. Who happens to like a drink followed by a punch up.
If Gibson was an Islamist I suspect he'd be of the head chopping variety. Thank goodness he isn't nu?

Now Crowe's going to have to do something uspeakibly vile or outrageously macho to get back on top. Gibson's pulled out a winner here mefeels.
I prefer to think Mel was a bit mental than career minded when he allegedly punched his pregnant missus,
Crowe was beastly to national treasure Mark Lawson. No matter what Gibson does, it could never be as bad as that.
