The Peter Serafinowicz Show Page 16

I didn't enjoy it this week. Probably wasn't in the mood though?

Peter will be gratified that's the case Lee, because he reckons he was "on it.."

I told him what I thought... but only after he'd got the beers in...

One point I meant to make about the Peter S show was how under used Matt Berry was.

Yes that stands out for me too. So the gags aren't just written by Peter himself and his brother. Oh dear. I looked at it again last week and absence did not make my heart any fonder! Only the Steve Irwin sketch with the robot, especially the beetle bot, was worth doing.

I reckon that Peter Serafinowicz and Catherine Tate should make a show together...

Thay could call it Pete & Dud! :)

... or rather, dud & dudder???

Ha ha ha - that's the wittest thing I've read all day. lol. Well done Frankie.

Well we've just learnt that he should never ever again be allowed to attempt to impersonate John Cleese.

Or Marlon Brando.

Why do they keep commissioning this crap? I call for more repeats. Emery and Everett please!

Yeah, just got to say again, this is really, really poor.

The few excellent ideas (Complico, Who Wants To Win £100) only exacerbated the disappointment at how godawful the other three quarters of the show was.

They haven't recommissioned it though have they? I sincerely hope they won't. The show has had dire viewing figures despite being up against mediocre opposition and the BBC's money would be much better spent on something else.

The fact that is was made in the first place is enough.

I luuuurved the 'Who Wants To Win £100' sketch, okay not so funny, but still Lovey. Also the 'Butterfield' sketch was a guddun, plus 'The Guide to Modern life', but yeah, everything else was a bit shite.

That 'Who Wants To Win £100' was pretty good, could've been funnier but the details that went into were great. Loved the take on air-raid siren, "that sound signals...".

That's been the main problem with this show though, it's beautifully produced, lots of details in the sketches, performances are all great and the impressions spot on. But the dialogue and jokes aren't always on top form. Which lets the show down.

Still Serafinowicz has done plenty of other great material on Look Around You and 15 Storeys High so this doesn't taint him that much in my opinion anyway.

Overall I enjoyed the series, there were some very good sketches spread over the shows run, but really there was just too many bits each episode that were just ok. Maybe, if there was a second series, they need to push the boat out a bit more and take more risks, because I still think theres a lot of potential there and serafinowicz is such a great, likeable performer. So it was good in parts, but could do a lot better.

I have enjoyed a lot of this show but have to agree that some bits were also rather poor. Mr S is a great performer and the production values have been spot on.

On balance I'd give it another go though - but think that some more thought could go into the writing. Maybe get more (new) writers involved. Ahem ahem!

This week I loved the "£100" sketch, it made me chuckle a lot. Particularly the harpist supplying the incidental music. Lovely touch.
