Jennifer Saunders - comic genius Page 4

Oh lol ok I think i might have seen some bits but not much.I ususally stick to sitcoms and just French and Saunders sketches really.

And they were:
Graham Chapmon (sadly he died in 1989)
John Cheese (woops, sorry, Cleese)
Eric Idle (my favourite)
Terry Jones (once engaged to someone my dad knows)
And Micheal Palin, the new Finious Frog.

OOH i like John Cleese because he was in fawlty towers and I used to watch that yeeears ago.And he was in shrek 2 with jen.:D

His dad's name was Cheese but he changed it so he wouldn't be teased in the army. True fact. :)

Haha.I think I would have changed it aswel.I get teased for my name but its not as bad as cheese.I'm obsessed with cheese if i'm bored I just doodle peices of cheese.:| haha

Apparently his brother Dick also changed it to Cleese.

What? It's true!

And his sister, Fanny.

I'm amazed that she had breast cancer and kept it under wraps.

Glad she's on the mend though.

Top woman!

Jennifer Saunders = National Treasure

"Still, at least my surname isn't Back. It'd be awful, wouldn't it? Helen Back."

I agree Alicia - I think she is hysterically and historically funny. She has been daring and experimental in so many ways over the years. She has the ability to be laugh out loud funny as well as bittersweet or biting. She has dared to play unsentimental comedy protagonists - which few female comedians do, and has proven herself as a versatile writer and actress.
She was part of the generation that brought English humour out of the era of innuendo and puns, basic slapstick and base rudery - creating a string of intelligents comedies incorporating surreal and absurdist elements, extremely witty verbal humour as well as outrageous physical excesses that put a new spin on old slapstick. She can be both erudite and accessible, warm and unsentimental. Always sophisticated - she steers away from talking down to her audience or pointing at the comedy with old style jokes and punchlines.
"Absolutely Fabulous" is my favourite sitcom (and television show) and "Jam and Jerusalem", "The Life and Times of Vivienne Vyle" and "French and Saunders" are among my favourites. I love the "Mirrorball" special. Although not written by them, I quite enjoyed "Let Them Eat Cake" with Jennifer and partner Dawn French.
I also love Dawn French and have spent many happy hours enjoying "The Vicar of Dibley". I'm with you- she's the greatest - a truly versatile comedian and very funny.
