Three mentions in the BCG newletter that just popped into my email, and three pops at it! Come on now!

I only counted two.

I only counted two.

"In this week's episode of the variable-quality C4 sitcom" Is how it's described; none of the other shows highlighted get such an unpromising description!

I'd rather have a variable-quality comedy than the same 'quantity' of humour spread more evenly. A few great laughs are more valuable than lots of lesser ones.

Suck it up, variable-quality BCGer!

As for the show, I think this series more than any other is showing the Seinfeld influence. Last weeks was very much like a poor episode of the American show.

Some nice moments but still pretty flat over all. And the space ordering stuff was very weak. In fact so far this series Matt Berry and his scenes have been a bit rubbish. Looks increasingly like they should have quit after 3 series.

Definetly past its best now, but there are still many funny moments and it rounded the 'sitcom night' off nicely having enjoyed 'My Family' and 'The Old Guys'.

I did feel though in tonight's episode, it was a poor attempt by Linehan to revisit the 'Kick Bishop Brennan Up the Arse' classic from 'Father Ted' to 'Kiss Roy Up the Arse'. Inferior in every respect.

I thought it was really funny - still on form. I guess you've all just lost interest.

I guess I was expecting the worst after what everyone on here has been saying and it's the first one of this series I've seen.

I wish I felt the same way as you about it as at it's best it was a great sitcom. There's just something slightly mechanical and soulless about this series. Like everybody involved is just going through the motions.

Whilst it did have some very good moments, sometimes I wonder about Moss, when you think you've got him figured as a character and you know what he'll say next he says something different.

It just seemed a bit messy or rushed to me and I was a bit disappointed when it ended, I expected at least another minute or 2.

It made me laugh, but as it went on I kept thinking I'd have done or said some things differently and I think there's a lot of missed potential.

Like the robot arm?

(Or Gillian McKeith?)

I thought it rather feeble.

Like a first draft script that there had been little or no effort to improve.

Yeah I normally can't praise the IT crowd enough, and I've been satisfied with the series up to now, but I thought the episode tonight was really weak.
