Chris Barrie

Any fans of Red Dwarf and The Brittas Empire out there? I think Chris Barrie is a comedy great for all the shows he's been a huge part of including the ones I've mentioned he was one of the principle voices on Spitting Image as well as appearing in two Tomb Raider films.

Chris is a big influence on my comedy career and I am glad to say there is now an Official Fan Club which has been endorsed by Chris himself. He's even shot a exclusive interview for the fan club of which I am a member obviously.

Here's Chris himself introducing his new official fan club

A funny guy, but watching him on "massive machines/engines/ ego" he seems not far removed from his characters!

:O Really? I think it's quite the opposite. He comes across as really passionate about his subject matter and a really down to earth guy when he's presenting.

It'd be nice to see him tackle another sitcom role. Maybe he's out of fashion these days and doesn't get the call.

Maybe but he's got new Red Dwarf and he really enjoys presenting so I think he's happy with his lot but yes it would be nice to see him in a another sitcom.

I'm out of the loop on the new Dwarf. Is it on Dave again?

It will be when it airs, yeah.

Ah. Good old Dave.

Oh I think he does like machines, he is just a little over pernicerty. I was thinking more of Mr Brittas (his best role) than Red D...

I got what you mean now. More of a character quirk that he shares with Brittas. I would agree on that but I thought you meant more annoying like Rimmer.

No, though he does look very like him.... You never see them together either...

Me and him would probably get on, we would enter into a "geek off" over bike engines..

I like Brittas, but Rimmer, for me, is in another league, one of the all time great sitcom characters.

I couldn't agree more. He is one of the best although I rate Brittas very highly too.

The episode wit hthe drug dealers is I think one of the best sitcom laughs ever. Red D, yes in it he does create one of the great comic characters of telly, but I rather like Britas better. Though I used to like RD a lot nowdays I've grown tired of it.

The Trial is a classic. I love them both although Red Dwarf has the edge. I could never grow tired of either.
