Doctor Who... Page 593

Watched the season finale; best ep of the series. I am surei t would all start to unravel if I thought about it too much, but that is almost always a problem with time travel stories. I was at least able to happily suspend disbelief, rather than screaming "YOU WHAT?!" at the TV as I did so often during the RTD era.

Not sure about having a married couple in the TARDIS though.

Is that a K9 toy for the Korean market?

I have given up watching Matt Smith Doctor Who, as it's painful (despite his remarkable face). A show that used to be about science fiction and adventure now focuses far too heavily on schmaltzy emotional guff. I might get the Matt Smith first series and try to re-watch (in the case of the latter episodes, watch for the first time). Perhaps with the passing of time it will seem less dreadful (like Sylvester McCoy's era).

The K9 above comes from a "make your own K9" post on a blog advising single fathers how to alienate their kids:

Oh, I thought it was a cake.

Me too.

Got the Christopher Ecclestone series 1 boxset this week, and am looking forward to rewatching the New Who reboot from the start.

Of the Old Who's out on DVD, which are the best ones? The ones worth getting?

The Talons Of Weng Chiang
Ghostlight
The Curse Of Fenric
The Caves Of Adrozani
Pyramids Of Mars

Whatever you can get for free or cheap.

Our local library has lots of old Who, but they all seem to be Baker ones. Not saying that is a bad thing, but I'd like my kids to see more than just him.

I like The Pertwee Dalek ones.
Day of the Daleks & Death to the Daleks.
I quite like the Carnival of Monsters as well.

I haven't watched many old ones recently. But I like the Colin Baker ones! And obviously the Peter Davison ones.

They only have the Tom Baker and Davison ones in my local library.

I got that on DVD a few years ago and it was great. I hadn't seen it before, but really enjoyed it. It's a Robert Holmes script, so what do you expect?!

Vengeance On Varos is very good.

I hate Varos. Found it really boring. Got a nice dark ending, mind.

Revelation of The Daleks is a good Colin Baker one.

Yes.
