The IT Crowd 4.0 Page 10

Consensus appears to be that, if anything, it's got a little worse since it started.

Even though the first series is excellent. It feels like it was still finding it's feet, but it also still feels like it is in a way.

It's definitely one of those shows that seems better in retrospect. Like I'll appreciate it in many years to come than I do now. But saying that I love it at the minute. (I have no idea what I'm trying to say...)

You can play "Spot the Historic Computers" on the set if you are bored with the action.

Yup,

Parallel to a good few other comments above, I was hoping for a better entrance into Series 4. I know sometimes, when a comedy series is sooooooooooo good, you set the bar very high and anything short of it is a poor show!!! .. but it felt weak and uninvolved to me for a brand new start.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure if we had nothing to compare to, this would get two thumbs up, but I really hope the next episode renews my faith in how good it can be again!!!

All the best,
Cal :)

P.S. I agree that at times, it looked like Jen was reading a script from a different show.

P.P.S. Do you think we will get to see what lurks behind the green door??

That advert when that geeky character (I believe you call him Moss) is on that Countdown TV show must be the unfunniest piece of "comedy" I've seen in a long time.

Why don't they put decent funny sections of episodes in their trailers any more?

Way back when, for example, an OFAH trailer would have contained a LOL belly laugh segment.

Another example: The episode of One Foot when victor mistakes the puppy for his phone. They showed THAT scene. Which made me, and millions of other people, think "I must watch that."

Broadcasting unfunny trailers isn't doing the shows any favours.

Maybe we'll discover tonight that it was actually the funniest bit :(

Made me laugh.

I agree that the Countdown trailer isn't very funny.

I liked the other ad relating to this ep, too; the 'Street Countdown' one.

The newspaper reviews by 'proper critics' have all picked up on the very predictable nature of the jokes - like Jen saying she loved culture and then saying she'd seen We Will Rock You five times.

I'm not confident about Linehan delivering anything anymore - I suspect last weeks opener might be one of the better episodes. The characters seem to have stagnated rather than developed - especially Jen and Roy. Almost as if after the first series he was happy to let the actors drive them forward.

In a way I think the brilliantly successful casting of the show was the ruin of Linehan. He hasn't seemed to make much effort after that.

Not just the characters. A lot of artists tend to stagnate after a certain point in their career. Maybe Linehan's just past his sell-by-date.

It's just not as good as it used to be.

Pains me to say it, but this series isn't working for me. Another weak episode. There was some not bad stuff in the Countdown plot, but the other two stories were dire. A real disappointment.

Wasn't great. Still worth watching though.

Has this show got better through the series?

In my opinion, yes. Of course losing the dreadful Chris Morris helped a lot.
