He also falls over a lot and has a terrible first touch.

There's only one man for the England manager's job.
That man is Sam Allardyce.

Class, sheer class.

Or Howard Wilkinson.
Strong examples have to be made now for that awful embarrassement. Capello must go right now, let the greedy bastard have his 12 million, just get rid of him. And several of that squad must never be picked again for England, namely Heskey - what on earth was he doing there anyway, let alone being in the first team?; Green - one major clanger too many, it's probable that England wouldn't have faced Germany so early had he not goofed so horribly; Upson - always been a sub standard centre half, never international class; Carragher - once was a solid defender but not up to it now, plus petulent and moody and should not have been recalled; King - a liability with his constant injuries, and slow; Wright Phillips - rarely gets a decent ball in and nowhere near as quick as Lennon or Walcott; Carrick - an over rated distributor who distributes the ball to the other side when his radar is off, his lack of form here meant England were imbalanced for the USA game, he was the natural replacement for Barry but Capello couldn't trust him (but he still took him!).
Plenty of decent players to replace that sub standard shower.
Jack Rodwell would make a great partner for Rooney.
That disallowed Lampard goal reminded me of a similar incident that happened to me, when I was 11. My Primary school had organised a 5-a-side tournament, and my team, Everton, got to the final, where we played a team calling themselves Liverpool (imaginative, I know!). With the whole school gathered around the pitch watching, we played out a really close Final, which went to extra-time with the score at 2-2. Then, with only seconds remaining, Liverpool scored a "Golden Goal", winning the match 3-2.
Now, I would've been quite happy to accept my runner's-up medal, if it hadn't been for a boy from the year below me running up to me and the teacher who had refereed the game, at the end, telling us that the final Liverpool shot had only ended up in the goal, because he had stuck his foot out, when stood next to one of the posts, after the ball had squirmed under our goalie's body, accidentally helping it into the goal, instead of going wide, which was where it was originally heading. Anyway, the teacher in question was having none of it, and insisted the goal should stand. Of course, he would do that, seeing as he was a big fan of the real Liverpool F.C.
I still think Brian Clough would make an ideal replacement. He couldn't do any worse. (Yes - I know he's dead!)

What would Coleen say?

I agree about Heskey. I bet even he was surprised to be there - unless he has Dion Dublin qualities.
And it wasn't just Freen at fault in the first match. Why didn't they score any more?
In the dim and distant past I put up a World Cup predictions competition. There were five BCGers plus me taking part and after the second round of matches (and six of the 10 questions) here is the group standings...
Gerry McDonnell - 35 points
Tuumble - 25 points
Will Cam - 20 points
Don Rushmore - 16 points
EllieJP - 14 points
Bigfella - 5 points
I'm also running the competition at work and someone there has got 52 points. Let's face it, we know sod all about football.

I'd forgotten about that, cheers for the update Tuumble.

How many points left to play for, Tuumble?

40 points up for grabs now.
Questions left are how many goals will be scored across all four quarter-finals, who will win the competition outright, the name of the top scorer and how many goals will there be in the entire tournament.
Has anyone else heard this rumour about Rooney that the papers are going to publish after the World Cup?
