British Comedy Guide

Hello!

Hi folks, I was wading through various sites, when I happened upon this one - Excellent. I enjoy various sitcoms and I'm a huge fan of the Carry On films. I've not read many of your posts yet - but I intend to.

Heather - but call me Hegs!

Hi there Hegs Wave

Nice bottom.

Good mor- after- no, morning, to you, Hegs. Which Carry On is your favourite?

Carry on Screaming and Carry on Cabby

Hello to you both.

Everyone always says Carry On Screaming! It does nothing for me.

Why?

Many reasons. It just never seems to get going. And doesn't feel like a proper Carry On, with too many non-regulars high up in the cast list. Not enough sauce and innuendo in it either - and unlike the first few films, it doesn't have the light Ealing-esque charm to compensate for that lack.

Interesting answer but I disagree with the sentiments. One thing that Peter Rogers the producer of the films was good at, was trying out different comedy talent in the films (It could be argued that certain members of the regular cast were unavailable at the time!) but I think it adds something to the whole production with the apperance of Harry H Corbet in a leading role. I wish he had done more

The Carry on films did try to move with changing times, ulimately they fell out of favour, but there is no denying their place in British film history

I'm not a fan of Harry in the film. It feels like he's trying to play the part of someone else, I find.
