Newsjack - Series 3 Page 20

After last week's episode really quite disappointed with episode two. Liked the Famous Five Fun Fair sketch and the Nick Clegg puppet but definitely more misses than hits.

And as for the Vox pops / Corrections apart from the Bobby Fischer joke I thought most were poor. Esp. New Zealand one and the Viagara one. After that and the Doctor Who crack last week I'll look forward to a set of one-liners about flat-pack furniture, watching the football results in Radio Rentals window and mother-in-laws.

I am wondering if things have been a bit chaotic in the NJ office the last week or so. Andi Osho is still on the webpage as being in the cast and was in episode one so her exit seems a bit sudden. Suddenly all those two females sketches are consigned to the bin so that must leave them a bit short. (Sure that's what happened to mine)

And yes, in previous series a flat sketch could always be lifted by Lewis's Gordon Brown impression and his 'Um'. Although I think generally a change of government leaves you scratching around for new mannerisms and characteristics to put on the new incumbents. Here's hoping Cameron turns out more like Thatcher than Major, at least in that respect.

You are assuming that Newsjack has an office... Many shows have survived, or even thrived with one female in the cast playing most of the female roles, though it does seem a bit 1960s.

No they're not. Andi's just been replaced by another female cast member, so they've still got two - Jess and Margaret.

I was definitely disappointed with 2nd ep. It seemed to drag a bit. That Review Show thing is a real turkey. Don't get me wrong, they've got NewsNight Review down to a tee, but they're milking a dry udder with that now.

It probably says this on their site, but I'll ask anyway - Do they ever use submissions from previous weeks?

Was News Bullet in episofde 2? Only I'm thinking of submitting a NB item this week.

All the cool kids are submitting "Fake announcer bit after the credits have ended". Both episodes have had this.......am I the only person who listens beyond the credits?

It wasn't in show 2 either, so I think they've dropped it...

I thought they'd dropped 'Newsbullet'. Weren't they trying to re-invent it, but that failed?

For the record she could be seen on Channel 4's "Stand Up for the Week." last Friday.

I'm wondering if this coming week's Newsjack inbox will be filled with obvious gags about referees and linesmen in the England v Germany match going to Specsavers and the guy who had his artificial legs stolen not having a leg to stand on in court.

I'd have thought that "Betting on Paul the Octopus and being squids in" would be Number One.

And, after that Viagra gag, there's a fair chance they'll use it.

I submitted News Bullets for Ep 1 and they emailed me to say they weren't doing them for this series.

Being squids out of pocket, surely? You only considered one outcome...

A shame. I thought it worked quite well last series, when they did it. Still, at least I didn't submit my News Bullet sketch.

Damn....that's the kind of thing that separates out the Pros......

Just sent in my first ever attempt at a sketch. It's like giving a baby up for adoption, isn't it?
