The IT Crowd 4.0 Page 8

I enjoyed it quite a lot, though I imagine a part of the enjoyment just comes from having the show return. I'm not a huge fan of it but it's still a favourite. Was watching best bits of last 3 series on YouTube last night, and while this episode didn't contain any moments of genius, it was on par with the show's past record.

I sometimes think The Big Bang Theory can be too geeky and IT Crowd not enough. Still, I don't grudge either since they're both really hilarious.

You're a proper wrong'un sometimes, Stott!

It's true! Whingey little thing.

No they won't; "it crowd" is a well-known term to refer to 'cool' groups. Anyone who doesn't understand the term I.T. would consider it to be that. And most who do will have enjoyed the double-meaning of the title.

huh, I thought that was the "In" crowd

A brief Google gave no indication of usage of "It Crowd" other than the TV series.

Like 'it' girls. Have you heard of them?

I've heard of 'it girls', for sure, but never heard them described as the 'it crowd'.

Here's what urbandictionary.com has to say:

Interesting; personally I prefer The IT Crowd by some margin, though TBBT can be very good, too. Even if Leonard is a really unlikeable lead character! A whiny, sarky git who seems to hate his friends! Still a funny show, though.

A meeting between Moss and Sheldon could be interesting.

Sheldon is one of the best sitcom characters ever, I reckon. He's thoroughly unlikeable too, but that doesn't stop him being brilliant.

The Sheldon-Penny relationship is pushing *the* greatest sitcom relationship of all time. It's brilliant, especially in season 2. Shame season 3 hasn't seen them alone together much.

Oh, I don't agree at all; I would say Sheldon isn't the least bit unlikeable for the viewer.

Isn't there already a The Big Bang Theory thread? Whistling nnocently

:D

Big Bang Theory characters are more geeky than the IT Crowd characters. I'd say Roy is bordering on non-geek.

Roy seems to do a lot of dating and they're normally the really attractive women from where he works.

He's such a man.

Enjoyed the opener of 'The IT Crowd' last night. I think it is a very different show now to the one that started off, albeit inferior, but still extremely entertaining with wonderful surreal moments and am looking forward to seeing Moss on Countdown next week.

The characters in the last episode didn't do one single IT related task in Friday's opener. The set has been redesigned again and filled up with non computer but 'geek'-related objects like robots and toys. I could be wrong but I don't think there is even a computer on Roy's desk any more.

With Linehan refusing to give any recognisable business activity to Reynolm Industries, the show is really in danger of disappearing up it's own surreal arsehole. Vince and Howard in the Boosh went to Monkey hell and the North Pole but they always fed the animals in the Zoo.

I'm no stickler for the 'write what you know' mantra but Linehan is out of his depth really with two aspects of his own concept and it's harming the finished product.

Linehan probably doesn't know anything these days other than about what he learns on Twitter. The guy's always on there.
