According to wiki, yes, there is no offical English national anthem.
Maybe we should have Fat Les' Vindaloo. Maybe have sport specific anthems/theme tunes.

I predict an x-factor style competition, where musicians offer their potential English national anthems up to a panel comprising of Prince Charles, the PM and Doctor Who.

I never fail to be moved by a passionate singing of Jerusalem though. The second verse is particually rousing.
