People who are getting excited about "the match" tomorrow who seem to think that football only happens once every four years.
Things that piss you off Page 593
If only it did!
Apologies for repetition, but it was on the news again tonight: footage of people (in close-up) crying over the death of a family member. Grief should be personal. It is not f**king news.

It does at times!
Actually I am a big football fan but I'm getting really pissed off the way they're talking of this being "a communal moment!"
F**k me - it's only a bloody game!!!!
"Communal moment"? I've no idea what that is.

Like an Orgy. Without the sex.
It's just media-speak isn't it? Nobody actually believes this stuff
Well, a ridiculously large number of people do seem excited about this match and talking about it.
But is it actually anymore than would normally support England in a World Cup? Probably not.

Every England match is pretty much a communal moment.
For those who enjoy football or for those that like to support England, yes. There are a lot of people who pretend to, to get time off (like these Headmasters who close their schools down "So the kids can watch"), and those who don't care at all. Like yourself, or Aaron.

I don't not care. But it'll all end in disappointment. And probably violence on the streets. And in the home as wife beating goes up during World Cups. And if by chance we did win I really don't think I could stomach these chavy ill educated oafs becoming national heroes and held up as examples of Great Englishmen.

So it's a lose lose situation as far as you see it, you big bloomin' misery!

Sorry, that's impression I got.

That's football isn't it? The highs and, mostly, lows.

Well, no one would condone either, obviously.

Ha! Well, you might have something there.
