Hi all, another fan here.Only got the last 2 episodes on the HDD
and I've lost count how many times I have watched them again(particularily ep5).
Its one of the rare recent comedies like Alan Partridge,Extras that
you can watch over and over again(well I can)I suppose it helps if
you like the Mac & Vine but it really is a winner.I think series 2 is
better than 1,it does not seem like just one liners, its grown in to something
better, cue no more series.Sally Bretton is brilliant in this( infact all
the cast are great)am I going overboard lol.Really hope this continues, series
2 is perfect more of the same please.
Hi Dellboy, welcome to the site.
Well. What a night. Possibly the longest - and if I'm brutally honest (although not the actual show's fault) most painful - TV recording I have attended to date. Lee was of course very funny when he came out to talk to the audience, and looked good in his, erm, uniform (without giving too much away). Packed, I thought, with laughs in much the same vein as the rest of the series. I don't think that there's anything that'll upset or annoy most fans, although some could be a little frustrated with certain aspects.
And some rather odd reshoots with different words, I guess in at least one case depending on what time it'll be broadcast...
Plus, I think it was said that this'll be a 45-minute special. Zoo will be particularly pleased about that, I'm sure.
Quentin - They would indeed be crazy not to recommission, especially since the last ep (Gangster) got the highest viewing figures of any episode over the 2 series). So it's still a growing audience, which is a good sign. Although I have been a little narked that if you go into HMV, Not Going Out isn't in the new releases section - they've buried it straight in the TV Comedy section. So if you're passing, go to the TV bit, grab a couple of copies, and place them over the 40 or so copies of Die Hard 4.0 they'll have by the front door. The security guard will think you're about to run out and shoplift at first, and then he'll look confused.
pinkish - Shame about no subtitles - if there's a joke you need explaining, feel free to email me and I'll elaborate and explain! Though I'm sure it'll lose something if it's explained.
Aaron - I think he just said it's a longer ep cos the filming was going to take longer, thanks to not much on VT and some complicated set-ups/costumes etc. I'm fairly sure it'll still boil down to a half-hour. I know at least one other sitcom is getting 40min for their Christmas special, but I'm not going to get competitive...
Hi Krenz, thanks for your continued input on here, it's really much appreciated.

That is a very positive sign of health isn't it. I can't help but feel that if the early episodes hadn't followed on from that awful French and Saunders catastrophe it would have picked up even more momentum.
Let's hope the BBC repeat this latest series too at some point!

ha ha ha. I tried this - just to let you know, Steve from security wants a word with you now.
Quote: Aaron @ November 1, 2007, 1:38 PMWell. What a night.
There are many and varied questions I want to ask, but I'll limit it to the most important one.
What kind of uniform?
One of authority. You'll have to PM me for any more than that.
I'd love the Christmas show to be 45 minutes long! The longer the better! If the is no third series of NGO, it will be one of the biggest crimes against comedy ever!
Quote: Aaron @ October 30, 2007, 12:42 PMThey need to get on with the Time Gentlemen Please relases.
Agreed, wholeheartedly.
Will Not Going Out be sold overseas and how much will that net you writers
They even wore the costumes in the read through. very surreal
It was also mentioned there that the episode would be a 45 minute special (although the read through was still 10-15 minutes longer and needed to be trimmed). Whoever booked that basement was a genius, it was *tiny* and I was sitting inches away from the lovely Sally
I see Lee is back filming some more 'Would I Lie To You' from the 15th.
I was also fortunate enough to go to the recording of the Christmas special. Despite leaving my home in Northumberland at 11:30 the morning of the recording and only getting there at 6:40, with 5 minutes to spare, I made it in time to see what was a very long, but very enjoyable few hours. To be honest, I'd rather have stayed there all night than go back to the pit of a guest house I was staying in. I did think to myself that £65 a night for London was cheap! Included in the price was a drawer full of empty alcohol bottles and fag packets-nice!
After 31 hours of trains, finding a hotel at a lastminute.com shop, tubes, more trains, walking around Twickenham to find our hotel due to being unable to find a taxi, a rather interesting guest house, our taxi to the studios arriving 20 minutes late, getting back to find the only refreshment establishment had closed, a terrible nights sleep, getting kicked out onto the streets of London an hour and a half earlier than expected, and an agonising wait for our train, eventually getting us home just after 6:30 this evening-I hear you ask, was it all worth it?
You bet it was! Almost four hours of pure entertainment. I really enjoyed the episode and was lucky enough to meet Lee after. He was so lovely, a genuinely nice guy, very humble and gracious. A good nights entertainment all round! I'm just hoping they get a third series so I can do it all again! (perhaps with a few small changes to the itinery!)

Ah, damn you! I wish that I could have hung around to try and meet him. Aside from the fact Zoo would have killed me out of jealousy (and now will probably slaughter you), it sounds great.
Stop making me sound mental!
I'm not remotely jealous, I'm very happy for you all...
Glad to hear about 'Would I Lie to You'!
Not mental. Just a little enthusiastic!
And tickets for WILTY? are available now.
Just when I think this thread is going to drop out of 'active threads' listing it gets pushed back up again.
Is there a reason for this? She asks suspiciously.
