Group A. France & South Africa out, Uruguay (top) and Mexico through.

Pity South Africa are out. It's always good for the tournament when the home nation goes a long way.

I think I'm going to join my neighbor at the pub tomorrow for another 9 a.m. beer/breakfast/'ball session.

That's getting to be a habit, what you gonna do when they get knocked out?

He'll tell us tomorrow.

I don't need much of an excuse to drink beer. Once they're out I'll find another way to entertain myself. I'll be traveling between Texas, California, Washington, Colorado and Alaska, so I don't even know if I'll have time to read the results after tomorrow.

Hey DaButt, are you old enough to remember Pele playing in the U.S.?

Group B. Greece and Nigeria out, Argentina (top) and South Korea through.

Yeah, but I cared even less about the sport then.

England to play Uruguay or South Korea in quarter-finals, if we get past second round. And first round.

Have you ever seen this American Soccer League clip from 1981: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U2HWUbFGHMU

I saw Pele play for Santos against Fulham around 1969.

You can get 11/1 now on England . . :(

I'm at 6/1 but they're not going to win it.

Are they?

How about Chile at 50/1 ?
