BBC Writers Room not acknowledging.

Yeah - I apologise for dredging up this lot again, but don't they promise to send an acknowledgment card once they've received material?

According to their site (http://www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom/writing/writersroom_flow.shtml) they ask us to contact them if aforementioned card doesn't arrive within a month, but they don't suggest how you can contact them.

So, two questions:

1. Have others found their one month acknowledgment actually happens?

2. Do we have any other way of contacting them other than just sending another letter? I know they try to keep us at arms length, but still...

I sent something to them a few years ago, and I do recall recieving a little card, yes.

Thought so. Nothing for it then - if they won't respond, I'll jog down to Broadcasting House with a pitchfork and demand a postcard. I pay my licence fee. I know my rights.

(Unless anyone can suggest a more acceptable way of squeezing one out of them?)

Did you get flowers too?

I sent them something about 3 months ago and got a postcard within three days.

I think you can contact them by email. I do believe it's writersroom[at]bbc.co.uk

You can have mine if you like.
It's a picture of a park bench with some facile homile about writing being an addiction.
Which it isn't of course.
So they've got that wrong.

Mine was smeared with excrement and contained some very angry, poorlt spelled sexual threats.

I'm not sure it was the BBC I wrote to.

Ah. Thanks Mikey - it's another auto response, but at least it's something.

Yeh ITV sent me something far nastier.

Join their blog and send them a message on that.

Let it slide. You don't want to be playing with those arrogant f**kers at BBC anyway.

I got an acknowledgment after about two months and after I nudged them

"Yeah, we got it. But it's not as good as the stuff we write ourselves" - BBC W****r's Room

You got that error coz you put oc.uk instead of co.uk

Of course, there is the possibility that WR might have "moved house", taking all our scripts with them.
Then one day, the BBC will make them all but tell us "no, no, we were working on (a lot of) similar ideas at the time of your submission.

Yeah, spotted the .oc.uk balls up the second I hit the key to post the message. Sorry about that - if you're not a clumsy-fingered tit like myself you'll all find the correct address works.

Although the subsequent reply was less than helpful:

"Your Script did not reach us, please check the terms and conditions on our website, if your work meets these terms and conditions please try sending it in again."

Given that I checked the postage, enclosed a SAE and put a return address on the envelope, I'm assuming it got there (recorded delivery next time).

So, I don't meet their T&C? Nope. Checked that too. I have once again been fobbed off by them.
