Thanks! The only thing they changed was the introduction (does Miles write his own?). Other than that they didn't fiddle with it at all. I was quite surprised! But, then again, it was quite short.

When you wrote your sketch did you write an introduction featuring miles? I'm thinking of writing a sketch and didn't know if I could include him or not

The only thing that let the "football adverts" sketch was the bit at the end about Rooney liking grannies. What? That was YEARS ago.

Yes, but it's still one of the things Rooney is best known for and you'll get an easy laugh from it.

That was a good sketch, though.

Yes, but they dumped it. It can't do any harm to write Miles an intro. If they don't want it they'll just cut it out.

Sent my sketches in last night but so far haven't got the usual auto reply message, anyone else found this?

Just flushed my contributions for the week down the Newsjack latrine. Catch you later in the week to post some of them on the rejected vox pops thread.

So, lovely weather out. Just wait for the automated reply from the BBC and I'll go and enjoy summer for a few days.

Bad timing this week - the deadline is before the budget and the astounding bounce-back from the England team, which robs us outsiders of some good opportunities.

Didn't get anything on this week. (But I did write a 'Newsbullet Review' sketch last series which was unused!)

Dan

Just to let you all know, I rather liked the Alan Bennett sketch from last week.

I agree. That sketch was about associations. Very good.

I havnt got the auto reply either...is it standard that you receive this? Ive never sent anything in before...

No auto-reply here too. Email hasn't bounced back and is the same one as last week. They must've just turned it off.

But why? Why turn it off? Sudden case of bad manners?

Just submitted my three. I echo what was said about the budget/football bad timing. Did a generic 'Capello' sketch but I'm not terribly hopeful.

I shouldn't be too worried about not getting the auto-reply instantly, it does seem to take a while sometimes. Unless you've titled your sketch 'Free Viagra 4 u' or subjected your email 'Free white teeth kit' I'm sure it got through...

i never got an auto-reply last week either. did any of u guys who got sketches in last week receive an auto-reply?

The autoreply was on last monday morning when I dumped the sketches in, and on tuesday mid afternoon when the vox pops were submitted.

Nothing this week. Doesn't matter anyway - I'm not hopeful.

Isn't the autoreply an 'out of office' message and thus only sends to each recipient once? i.e. if they've not turned it off since last week and you got it last week, you won't get it again.
