According to predictability, Capello will be the most hated man in England next Wednesday, following his team's exit from the World Cup at the hands of the mighty Slovenia.

What they fail to say is that it's not just the Celtic nations but the rest of the world !

And it's all down to one word, arrogance.

Gerrard rapped: "I'm not happy with the performance.

"We have to give them credit.

"This was their World Cup final."

See what I mean?

Arrogant assole.

They should have sent the team that played in 1966. They may be (mostly I think, dunno) dead but we'd prob have more chance of winning.

Christ!!!! We were so bad, I fell asleep halfway through the second half.

By the way, I'm not making excuses, but did you see that shot Defoe had near the end? The ball took off from his foot, travelling to the top corner, then, when it was halfway to the goal, it seem to suddenly change direction and start going higher, as if the wind was carrying it. It's like a f**king balloon that thing.

Yeah I've been watching a lot of shots do the same, that just isn't right, that weird ball is making good players look like idiots and those players are then losing confidence in themselves and under performing. This is a very strange looking world cup so far, only Holland, Mexico and Argentina have managed to look good. Several big teams are looking dreadful, lacking control of the ball, and dour defensive football is starting to take over. USA v Slovenia is the best game I've seen so far, so there is proof that goals can be scored with that odd balloon like ball.

In the Japanese team there's a Honda and a Matsui. Are these their eal names or have they changed them as part of a sponsorship deal ?

Opens up possibilities . .

Wayne Vauxhall, Emile Skoda . .

Is this link about smoke free cigarettes?

No, it's about ambush marketing, funnily enough!!

Why have their shorts changed lengths over the years? They got shorter and shorter until the 80's, and have since got longer again.

Fashion trends. I'm surprised athletes aren't wearing hoodies and saggy shorts with 6 inches of underwear showing.

How dirty are Australia? They had the whole lot going on there, handballs, pushing off the ball, their customary late tackles, falling over to get free kicks, even deliberately heading a player's head in the air instead of the ball. That was an appallingly cynical display of non football, even by their low standards.

I can still remember when the long shorts first started to replace the short ones. It was back in the late '80s, a few years before British players started wearing them, and a team in France that ex-Spurs player Clive Allen played for (Bordeaux?) suddenly adopted them. I remember a childhood friend pointing them out to me on T.V., saying he'd love to buy their kit. A similar thing happened in Athletics, around the same time, when sprinters changed from normal shorts to long lycra shorts. The first Brit to do it was the Scottish Olympic champion Allan Wells. Back then, people used to laugh at him, calling them "cycling shorts".

England now at 10/1, that's not going to please someone on here, that's if they go on to win, can't really see it happening, unless they all suddenly find their form of 3 months ago, especially Rooney.

Holland up to 6/1, Argentina new favourites at 4/1. Have you noticed that both these nations seem to do well at the same time. Italy down to 14/1 is something of a surprise, they very rarely fail to reach the last 2 weeks. Germany at 9/1 another decent bet, had one poor game not helped by bad refereeing, but Germany in the knockout stages are harder to beat than even Italy.

Emile Skoda, no VW wouldn't have him promote their cars, he suits more the old Skoda. Wayne Rooney would be Wayne Ferrari at his best, but they'd have to drop him at the mo. Wayne Vauxhall's still a bit harsh, at the mo I think he'd be a good Wayne Audi, he's still got some remnant of power about him.

Moi ?

See, reason for investing £20 is, if I have to put up with four weeks of flags on cars, special edition St George's Mars Bars, arrogant xenophobic assoles etc then

a. If, God forbid, they win the effin' thing, I get some loot or

b. They go out then it's worth £20 to see little nine year olds with their painted faces streaked by tears and grown men sobbing like it really mattered.

It's a win/win.

:P
