Newsjack - Series 3 Page 12

(*) I lie. It's a joke that's been done to death elsewhere. I have the links if you want.

I admit I even did a version of it myself back at the start of May. Oh the shame.

Yeah, I thought exactly the same thing. The Amy's crack gag has been cracked 1000s of times since Dr Who started this series.
SHAME ON YOU whoever you are. It's NOT YOUR joke!

I thought the majority of the show was made up of predictable gags, so thus I was disappointed. I was expecting something much better. :(

There was one sketch/ditty/whatever I did like and that was the TV advert ideas in the football match.

Sometimes jokes are repeated on shows simply because you will recognise them. I may not even be someone who wrote in, it may just be the script editor.

That was my favourite.

Aw don't! Just don't suggest that the person responsible for quality control picked that gem out for inclusion, or worse if it's an example of their own writing(*).

(*) Or plagiarism.

The only thing that let the "football adverts" sketch was the bit at the end about Rooney liking grannies. What? That was YEARS ago.

Oh, and the other stand-out amusing bit for me was "is there only one Rooney?"

The 'only one Rooney' bit was spoiled for me because they'd confused the concept of an infinite universe with the meta-verse / multiverse hypothesis.

I prefer my theoretical physics humour to be based on scientific thinking, but I'll let them off on this occasion.

And also not let them off. And not notice. And write a death threat. And have different preferences. And have wrote the sketch yourself. And find it hilarious. And not...

The Alan Bennett and ITV Advert sketches were, indeed, fab.

Congrats to everyone who got stuff on.

One thing I didn't like was how they did a correction about ITV coverage. Surely the corrections should "correct" things that have supposedly been in Newsjack, not elsewhere?

Haha! Yes, but I wanted to get to the joke quickly and without confusing people. That and the fact that it was written about 4 o'clock in the morning! I have betrayed my fellow geeks!

Just finshed my three for this week. Tomorrow, polishing.

Hello all.

I've not written in for this series but am just curious to know if any workshoppers from last time sent theirs to Dan?

Goodluck for next week everyone
xx

Well done for getting a sketch on ddaann. I enjoyed it. How did your sketch as originally sent, compare with the finished article?

Thanks! The only thing they changed was the introduction (does Miles write his own?). Other than that they didn't fiddle with it at all. I was quite surprised! But, then again, it was quite short.
