I don't think so, I just think he thinks that Seinfeld is the bench-mark. Neither Father Ted or IT Crowd were done in the way Seinfeld was - far too wacky and farcical for that.

The IT Crowd is in an entirely different category to Seinfeld...it isn't good.

I also agreed.

And Seinfeld was wacky and farcical especially Season 8 and 9. There is a hell of a lot of Seinfeld influence in Graham's work, "not that there's anything wrong with that", except in that episode of IT Crowd were he ripped off about three 3 Seinfeld gags.

I never really got Seinfeld. I think I once watched a whole episode of it back in 1998 (in South Africa of all places) and quite enjoyed it, but all attempts to watch it since have proved difficult.

Don't feel bad - I don't really get why Seinfeld is the holy grail of US comedy when it's kind of dull.
