Do you get battered chips round your way ?

No, not as far as I know. I used to live by the seaside, I used to live by the sea... and chips were excellent. Now living here, chips are good but the magic is not there.

Simply an ordinary chip lightly dipped in batter and fried !

But not intensively battered like maybe a fish would be. More like a battered sausage

(Oh, take the meat off and eat the bread! Clarence? )

They come out all orangey and crisp: wonderful.

Can't really describe it, you have to try them.

I'll send you some in the post ! :)

(and a tray of bread puddin' to Kuala Lumpa )

They are nice. I went through a stage of battering everything. Got myself quite a criminal record.

Laughing out loud

Did anyone ever ask for batter bits on their chips?

The bits of batter that fall off fish etc in the display area, scooped up and spread over your chips !

:D

*sniggers*

Scraps! I used to get them but then regret it, they were too greasy sometimes.

Cor, that sounds nice. If very northern. ;)

I've never even thought of battered chips. They kind of sound a bit much.

I thought it was the little bits left after frying the chips? All the stuff that is missed.

I think it's the clusters of dandruff and hair that build up over the years.

Laughing out loud *coughs* Eww.

BTW, please, please do not try McCain's Beer Battered Chips in attempt to try the delight that is battered chips.

They are one of the most singularly disgusting things I have ever tasted.

Cooked them for one meal, threw it away followed by the rest of the bag.

You have been warned!
