British Comedy Guide

What is the connection..?

Spotted a neat little connection today between three comedy actors. Your task is to spot what that connection is.

Sid James
Peter Sallis
Rik Mayall

When we get the answer someone can add another for the rest of us to answer. :)

Dear God, a Games Thread, please!

*Speaking from on high*

"You shall have a games thread (since you asked so nicely)" ;)

They are all to be featured in upcoming James Cotter documentaries.

:D

A clue?

A clue...

Hmmm...

It involves a Carry on character name that was used in another show

Erm, if I'm right then...

Rowan Atkinson???

Dan

No.

OK, let's simplify it a bit more...

Sid James shares a character name with Peter Sallis in a Rik Mayall show. As Sid died in 1976 you can assume that this show didn't involve Sid.

What was the character name and what was the Rik Mayall show?

I'll guess at Sidney Bliss - the ex-hangman Sallis played in The New Statesman. That sounds like a sort of character name Sid James would have played but I don't remember which Carry On it was.

Ah, Sidney Bliss in The New Statesman.

I don't really get this 'add someone else' business though.

Dan

'Someone' was, admittedly, an appalling choice of words. What I meant was choose a new connection for us to figure out whether it's between different actors, writers, shows or a combination.

We could just forget all about it and go to the pub. :)

Carry On Loving.
