British Comedy Guide

Comedy writers wanted

Hello writers,

We are opening up submissions for the next Messrs Comedy which is currently pencilled in for late August.

After the one-night pilot was a huge success we are looking to perform over the course of three evenings in a central London venue. The main bulk of the forthcoming show will be the best material sourced from the pilot; however, we will also be inputting new material.

Our aim is to promote new writing and create an evening of an almost tele-visual experience, giving each sketch a theme tune. With this in mind, should you wish to have any sitcom extracts or comedy film extracts performed then please don't hesitate to submit those as well.

We ask that you adhere to our previous demands of minimal technical requirements and no more than six minutes in length.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Happy writing.

All the best,

James Britton& Hugh O'Shea (Producers)

What exactly are you looking for? It's not that clear - or am I just being thick?

It sounds as though they're mainly after sketches although not sure about the theme tunes. Do you want writers who submit to suggest a song?

Write the theme tune, sing the theme tune. :)

Sorry I didn't read that bit about a theme tune. I'll submit something else. Do you want a recorded theme tune, or it just enough to say (sing in the words of...)

What's the wonga like for this?

Looks like they've just subbed their opportunity and left the building...

Another bloomin' proverbial Elvis.

I emailed some stuff and they got back to me with feedback and suggestions.

Dan

It's always nice when a person putting up this kind of thread returns regularly to answer any queries.

However, having said that, it may be better to email them directly.

;)

Ask Marc P ... he knows!!!
