Top 3 ITV Sitcoms Page 2

Sorry about messing up my submission list when it should, of course, have been Blunder! Shit, sorry, I meant Jam and Jerusa.... Bugger! And what the hell was I on when I added Just Good Friends? OK, here we go again.

1: Whoops Apocalypse.
2: Doctor in the House.
3: Bless This House

I spotted a signed Victor Spinetti auto-biography yesterday. Wondering whether to go back and buy a copy.

Where on earth did you come across Victor Spinetti's auto-biography, Aaron? Maybe you can help me once again as you did before with Nightingles (delivered within 24hrs and absolutely brilliant). I've given up trying to find this book and as far as I was aware, up until now, it didn't exist. Thank you Aaron, you've given me hope.

Except that began on BBC Three. Or was it Four?

Is It Legal? was another ITV show (transferred to 4 though) which I quite enjoyed. And of course Mr. Bean! How could I forget Bean?!

Have only seen a few from ITV so here goes

1. Second Thoughts
2. Watching
3. Surgical Spirit

men behaving badly, started off as a itv sitcom, then moved to bbc, (i think), and barbara was another, (i think) (as you can tell i am a comedy brain box, i know everything about sitcoms,,, i think)

1 Watching

2 Barbara

Can't think of a third one!

greetings everyone. long-time viewer of this site but this is my first post.

my top three would be shelley, rising damp and bless this house.

with very honourable mentions to two in clover, watching and outside edge.

I believe ITV sitcoms will be great again one day

I would probably pick Rising Damp, Billy Liar and Outside Edge.

Director's Commentary would be included as well but it's not really a sitcom.

Indeed it did. And I've not seen much of Barbara, but what I have was rather good. Doesn't strike me as something that'll be on DVD soon though.

No, I can't see Barbara going to DVD like the remaining series of Watching/Second Thoughts/Birds Of A Feather and Faith In The Future although none of FITF are available, unfortunately.

I'd be surprised if Birds of a Feather doesn't see releases over the next few years. The amount of obscure stuff which is beginning to come out now, I can't imagine such a hit being neglected for much longer. Hopefully some nice extras would encourage people to buy, and avoid the problems which Prism faced in regards to their series one issue.

Do you know something?

Nothing for certain. Conjecture.

I'm really struggling to think of any.

No 1 - Definitely the New Statesman

No 2 - Definitely Rising Damp

No 3 - Errr...Probably Hot Metal, even though I don't remember that much about it.

I was going to say Rising Damp, Hot Metal, and the New Statesman! Someone got there first!

Spooky! Or perhaps cause ITV have done so few sitcoms worth watching that there aren't too much to choose from.

Guess so.

Anyway, I'm swapping "The New Statesman" for "Brass". I'll never doff me cap to a Hardacre

If we're allowed to do swaps, I'm going to exchange 'Doctor in the House' for 'Shelly'.
