I spoke to the manager of the local pub about renting their old double-decker bus for my friend's birthday in a few months. For $500 they'll drive you and up to 54 of your friends anywhere you'd like to go. They include your choice of cute, short-skirted barmaids to act as hostess and they throw in a $200 bar tab at any of their 4 pubs. You can bring along a keg and booze and basically have a rolling party for 5 hours. Sounds like fun.

Yeah, they've taken a few liberties. The one near my house seems more like a restaurant than a pub. The one in Alamo Heights is more traditional and is usually full of expats (and smoke, so that's why I seldom go there.)

No, they're mostly Texans with the occasional British/Irish lass thrown in. The manager was wearing a great kilt last night, but he sounded like a Texan, too.
