Your favourite sitcom character and why Page 2

I'm going for someone slightly obscure... Grimm from The Thin Blue Line

Great choice! I loved that character. He seemed to steal every scene he was in. Brilliant.

"This is MY arse on the line, and I do NOT want a cock-up!"

etc etc :D

Haha!
"Hoighty Toighty Namby Pamby Wishy Washy..."
"A fat cat, spinning his web with his tentacles in every pie "

Gareth from The Office is a good choice from the above.

As people have said it's difficult to pick just one but if I had to I would probably go with Dr Alan Statham - Consultant Radiologist.

I sat on the next table to the Seargeant Grim bloke at a coffee ship in Canterbury, he must have been doing something at the prestigious (not) Marlowe theatre in the town. I so wanted to do the 'namby pamby, hoighty etc' line on him and then possibly run away but didn't have the guts.

Would any of you have said anything/done anything to him if such an opportunity had arisen?????

A polite up-nod would be all I'd have the guts to do.

*holds head in shame*

Haha! I'm not sure I would have said anything.

I bet many celebrities who get associated with some (catch)phrase would get sick of it. Just like Mark Hamill doesn't want to hear how the force is with him. Kind of like the Victor Meldrew episode of Father Ted. :P

Bubbles from AbFab. Jane Horrocks is such a great actress(The Amazing Mrs. Pritchard). I love the way she dresses and talks. She has the best lines. Her expressions are funny as hell.

Its between Brent, Partridge and Blackadder. But one of my favourite obscure ones was Nick from My Family.

Grimm was a great character, Ben Elton has a knack of coming up with great characters. So many great characters, probably Rik from The Young Ones or Dougal from Father Ted are right up there. I also think that Moz from The I.T crowd is brilliant.

I think GOB would be up there for me with some of those already mentioned. So many to choose from though. Always liked Paul out of Spin City too.

GOB
Brent
Dougal
Tardy the Turtle
Cartman

Well at first I thought of Arkwright and then I thought of Nurse Gladys Emmanual but then I started thinking about Tom and Barabara Good and ofcourse Margot. Em... and then ofcourse there's Captain Peacock and Mr Humphreys and I haven't even started on the American stuff like Niles from Frasier but then Frasier's Dad was a great contrast too and well there's Eddie he could steal a scene just by being there. Oh and I haven't even mentioned Rigsby and Miss Jones and then there's Reginald Perrin, but Black Adder was superb and I've always had a soft spot for Victor Meldrew ...... oh this is just too hard, too hard I tell you I just can't do it! Ask me something easier!

:S

Alan Partridge
GOB
Tobias Funke
Niles Crane
Frasier Crane
David Brent
Homer Simpson
Basil Fawlty
Matt Malone
Murray (FOTC)

Niles!
