6Music is the way of the future. The only radio station apart from Radio 4 I listen to.
URBAN MUSIC Page 3
Interesting that this topic should appear on this site. Does anyone find this music at times, very funny? I like a bit of suburban, myself, Terry and June's Greatest hits, Derek Nimmo Live etc.
Did anyone else have trouble getting the fourth video to work? It's a shame, as it was working yesterday. I think it might just be down to a lot of people, i.e. us lot, trying to watch it at the same time.
Quote: Frankie Rage @ October 29, 2007, 10:43 AMThanks for posting all this stuff ... look forward to viewing it, thanks also to anyone else who has posted links. When I get a spare half hour I am gonna have a good look and listen!!!
I started with De La Soul and I also like Eminem, Tupac and 50 cent plus a lot of stuff I hear, but just don't know the names of.
Hatx
I just want to make it clear, that I don't listen to Eminem or Tupac, and DEFINATELY do not listen to that idiot 50 Cent. Eminem and Tupac are/were talented, but quickly got boring, when they found fame, and just started rapping about the usual Gangsta/Pop rap bollocks. As for 50 Cent, well, his music's just for Primary school kids, really. De La soul, on the other hand, are legends. A lot of people think they split up, after their second album, when the truth is they just went underground, and are still going strong.
Ooh dear, a bit of musical ignorance here. There is little point arguing what music is good and which is bad as its all about tastes and we all differ in that. I am a big fan of urban music (RnB, soul, hip hop) for different reasons.
People think that every song has to have strong lyrics? Does every indie, pop, rock song have strong lyrics? No! Some songs we like because of the lyrics, catchy tune, sound of voices, mood etc and urban music is the same - there is a variety on offer.
Lemar is pop? Hahaha. That's right he sounds just like the cheeky girls. Even when he does covers he turns them into RnB or soul as that is the way he sings them. You can tell the difference between an opera singer and a pop singer right?

Who cares what you listen to???
Your opinion seems to be about as valid as Dave Chapmans!!!
You are just as big a musical snob as he is!!!

OK wiseass!!!
This is the General Discussion section where we discuss all about Generals!!!
God, stop bickering, it's not so much handbags at dawn as little toy hammers in the mini sandpit. You all like different things and noone's opinion is superior...well, mine is slightly elevated.

Why do people butt in like this... who are you, my Mother?
Frankie, go to your room.
First looking at nudie pics and now THIS!
I wouldn't have minded if you hadn't taken them out of the family album.
I love you!!!
But sis has such a huge pair, and ... ow! that hurt, ma...
Your sister will be putting food on the table for years to come. I always brought her up as a page 3 model, to keep me in retirement.
I've always looked up to sis ... I just want her to look up at me, too..
Is it too much to.. ..ow, ma!!!
No need! Ewwwww! Frankie are you back to Frankie now?! I think it's time!
There might be a sketch in this, hang on *pootles off into the dank recesses of his imagination.*

There may be... I love Shakespeare's definition of comedy..
"A mill wheel out of true"
Actually contrary to what you think I'm not a musical snob. Run DMC & Aerosmith were good, I like Amy Winehouse (who gets labelled urban) but as I say it's the borrowing shall we say I don't agree with.
I used to like "Can't Touch This" by that bloke with baggy trousers until I realised it was the Rick James bit that was good.
How could they take Under Pressure and ruin it?
I didn't look at the links posted because as I've said before I've got a crap computer so couldn't look/listen to them.
My main tastes are Rock/Blues but I love Stax/Atlantic, Prog Rock, Glam Punk such as New York Dolls and Sigue Sigue Sputnik, and modern things like Hard Fi, the Killers and the Editors.
It isn't really a snob thing - I just hate the whole idea of encouraging drive-by shootings and stabbings.
By the way did I mention that I started this thread after coming home from the pub on saturday night?
