British Comedy Guide

Newbie!!

how do, I am new to here and comedy in general. Been told im funny by people and some animals but apart from acting like a clown with mates I havent done anything about it.

so what am I looking for??
some tips on how to start a profile on myself, obviously I am goin to start writing stuff hopefully some of it will be funny. would like some general tips on what to do once I have written some stuff.

I don't think I have the balls to do stand up but wouldnt mind gettin into writing jokes, I mean iv seen the shows on TV (mock the week, have I got news etc) and I think im funnier than them, sometimes.

any help would be appreciated and greatly rewarded with praise.

Welcome to the website.

The obvious advice that springs to mind is to use capital letters and punctuation - jokes are very easily ruined by someone reading them the wrong way.

Oh and your post will probably get moved to the introductions forum.

Look at what other people have on their profiles. And look at what sort of stuff gets posted in critique and see if you could write anything along those lines. Basically, see what others are up to and use that as a template!

First, hi and welcome. Second, Echo Afinkawan - words are a writer's tools, please use them - and capitals and punctuation - to convey meaning.
:)

Hello there. Good luck in your pursuit.

Hello and welcome!

Oh and re the Caps thing... here's a tweet I saw recently...

"Grammar is important: Capitalisation is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse & helping your uncle jack off a horse."
