Top 5 sitcom/comedy drama characters Page 2

I think mine would be (in alphabetical order of surname):

Sir Humphrey Appleby (Yes Minister/Yes, Prime Minister)
Bernard Black (Black Books)
Karen Brockman (Outnumbered)
Captain Mainwaring (Dad's Army)
Dr. Caroline Todd (Green Wing)

2: Andy Pipkin (Little Britain)

Little Britain isn't a sitcom or comedy drama!

If I can choose only five

Victor Meldrew
Geoff Tipps (League Of Gentlemen)
Gareth Keenan (The Office)
David Brent (The Office)
Bernard Black (Black Books)

deleted linky shit from a shit linker

Laughing out loud

I thought it was Chris Morris's latest eye bleedingly off the wall script.

you're all damaged in the thought-box:
frasier crane (you're all reeling)
patsy stone (gumshield on floor)
malcolm tucker
imhotep
...aaand...oo, I don't know- I can't say

Do you need help?

Should someone phone someone?

All from Minder:

Arthur Daley
Sgt Chisholm
Dave the barman
DC Taff Jones
Terry McCann

Off the top of my head

Harold Steptoe
Sergeant Wilson
Arthur Daley
David Brent
Basil Fawlty

I'm really sorry, but you're all wrong. The correct answer is:

Mrs Doyle
Father Dougal McGuire
Uncle Jimmy
Brian Griffin
Keith

Actually, come to think of it, maybe 'Tom' should be No.2 not Dougal.

Hope that answers your question.

1. Gary Sparrow (Goodnight Sweetheart)

Have you ever heard any of Richard Herring's riffs on this subject? He mentions GS a number of times in the early C&H podcasts. At one point he talks about "the paucity of that man's ambition" as upon discovering a genuinely mind-bending time-travelling portal, he nonchalantly shacks up with a the first 1940s barmaid he meets in pub 20 yards away from the portal.

Anyway, my 5 are:

5. David Brent

4. Edmund Blackadder

3. Tobias Fünke

2. Hugh Abbott

1. Alan Partridge

Here's what I think:

Del Trotter
Frank Spencer
Stan Butler
George Roper
Donald Stewart (from Benidorm)
