The Three Musketeers.

MADAME POMPIDOM SITS ON HER LUXURY BED IN HER DUNGEON CELL.
SUDDENLY THE DOOR IS FLUNG OPEN AND THE THREE MUSKETEERS ENTER.

Porthos:
Fear not Madame we have come to save you.

Madame Pompidom:
Can it really be? The Three Musketeers, praise the Lord for this miracle.

Athos:
Quick This way! There's not a moment to lose my lady.

Madame Pompidom:
Thank you the Three Musketeers.

Aramis:
Hold on a second....

Athos:
There Isn't time, we must make Haste.

Aramis:
Madame?

Madame Pompidom:
Yes My Brave Musketeer

Aramis:
Do you actually know our names?

Madame Pompidom:
You are the three Musketeers, look at you all . the Three of you there, you dashing handsome heroes you..

Aramis:
I knew it!

Athos:
Oh not this again please, what does it matter if she doesn't know our names?

Aramis:
Of course it bloody matters! It's always the same, they take us for granted.

Athos:
Quick! I think the guards are approaching.

Porthos:
Of course she knows all our names, I'm sure she is just unsure which of whom of us is who because we all look so handsome.

Aramis:
Ok then Madame, worry not which who is whom, just tell us our names three.

Madame Pompidom:
Ooh well um I do know this, don't tell me now let me see.... Not Zorro, um hold on.. Ah D'artagnan

Aramis:
Wrong!

Porthos:
Let her off that one, everyone says Dartagnan first,

Aramis:
Ok one more chance!

Athos:
The Guards are still approaching!

Madame Pompidom:
Ooh hold on, I know them I do...erm is one of them is something like Pathos?

Porthos:
Are you pronouncing that Porthos or Athos?

Aramis:
Oy don't give it away! .

Madame Pompidom:
Oh yes that's what I meant, Porthos.... Athos and ...

Aramis:
You need all three otherwise we'll leave you here.

Porthos:
No we won't

Aramis:
Oh yes we will, I've had enough of this, Sometimes I feel like going solo
One for one & one for one & all that.

Madame Pompidom:
Can I at least have a clue?

Aramis:
No more clues. You should have done your research, have you never heard of Scrollepedia?

Athos:
They've more or less approached now!

Madame Pompidom:
Oh I don't know! I got two right! Can't you just rescue me two thirds of the way?

Porthos:
Seems fair!

Athos:
We'll get her out of the castle but we won't walk her all the way home.

Aramis:
Well you can do it without me! Go on sod off! The pair of you and take that ungrateful Woman with you!

Madame Pompidom:
Hmph! How dare you! Ungrateful Woman? I do have a name you know!

END

Nice sketch, Steve. I reckon this presents a good bit of scope for some OTT, hammy acting (for extra comedy value). Scrollepedia got a smile out of me. Not laugh out loud comedy but a nice, family-friendly feel to it.

This is my new favourite BCG sketch ever!

Would love to see (your version of) these characters in other situations.

Outstanding!!!

:D :D :D :D :D

Athos:
They've more or less approached now!

Loved that line!

Very enjoyable sketch.

I liked this strong characters and a lovely example of established characters working through a single problem.

Great stuff.

Mind you wasn't Dartangan actually the 4th musketeer?

That was so good. :)

Really enjoyed this one. Be good to see live on stage i.e The Works

Thanks for the nice comments.
Cheers for reading.

Nice. Although could do with a trim (in my opinion). Reminded me of the Princess Bride for some reason; imagined it executed with a similar tone/ style. I'd shorten the end to just:

Madame Pompidom:
I do have a name you know!

Nice and light-hearted, pacy and good character interaction. Really funny lines too. Thanks for that :)

Very good. It's got a Mitchell and Webb feel if you ask me - and it would work on radio as well.

One of the best I've read on here. Lovely pacing, build and punch, and also had something of an old school feel (that's good IMO - Round the Horn, Python - that ilk)

Agree with Timbo about the:

Athos:
They've more or less approached now!

Loved it.

Five stars from me.

I've only just seen this sketch (thanks to Don's vote in the BCG Sketch Championship 2010).

It's a great little sketch and the line:

"Athos:
They've more or less approached now!"

is Steve Sunshine at his very very best.

Laughing out loud

I seem to be repeating myself about Sunshine sketches.

I liked this one, Steve. Had a Python feel to me and also a bit Mitchell and Webb. I think it could do with a bit of trimming to make it sharper, but still good.
