Greatest denouements (spoilers within!)

Ashes to Ashes and Lost have ended, to very mixed feelings. Which other mysteries have ended in a particularly satisfying manner?

Life on Mars, Star Trek the Next Generation, Cheers, St Elsewhere.

But I think the daddy is the Sweeney.

Battlestar Galactica not so much. The beat the big Cylon base and they're gone for ever was to crammed. Plus the we're the actual original humans is another cliche, albeit a diferent one.

Didn't St Elsewhere end with the revelation that the whole show was inside the mind of a retarded child, or something? That sounds a bit odd to me.

I loved how The Prisoner ended, though I know lots of people don't.

I hate the way most of our sitcoms end over here. My absolute least favourite was from Night Court, where Bull Shannon leaves the planet with aliens.

That said, The Mary Tyler Moore show had a brilliant ending, with everyone being fired, except Ted Baxter, who was the world's worst news anchor. Very funny.

Quantum Leap had good ending. Poor Sam.

Ah yes, loved that ending!

Autistic please or else you end up sounding like you have a developmental disorder.

But Prisoner is ace.

I love how low key the ending of Rome was. A father and son wandering off into the market, about to give the big reveal.

Are movies allowed?

If so, I'd say The Italian Job. I saw it for the first time a couple of months ago, and the end took me totally by surprise.

For sitcoms, I loved the end of Moonlighting. The fake snow was a cheesy, but apt end for the series.

Z Cars when the shutter comes down on the station.

I did love the end of the first Blackadder series!
Even if it upset me at the time.

Don't drink the wine!

Ah yes, loved that ending!

Ah, yes, the God-is-a-bartender ending.

Classic.

Can you guess what I thought about that?

Just remembered the ending to Moonlighting.

So clever and knowing and 4th wall breaking.

The one that should have been the end of Only Fools & Horses was pretty good.

This time next year we'll be billionaires!

The Office ending was great as well.
F**k off Finchy!

That was brilliant. Really moving.
(In a different way to the Tim/Dawn ending)

The only ending I really loved in recent years was The Shield. Tied everything up perfectly and hinted at what might happen next. Classy.
