Top 3 ITV Sitcoms

If you had to pick your top 3 ITV Sitcoms, what would you pick: I would choose 1. On the Buses, 2. Two in Clover and 3. Rising Damp.

Jack ~ Greetings from America. I need some serious help with a British sitcom I watched about a yer ago at a friends house. I do not remember the name of the show but I found it quite good good. It was about I believe 4 friends (one was Black)and they were all business men around London. The shows evolved around their love lives and most of all their friendship. Would you know the name of such a sitcom?

Was it the nigel havers show, called, I think, something like 'Babymen?', think that names wrong. Also starred giles from buffy, and the black guy was in rising damp.

Manchild.

Black guy is Don Warrington.

And 3 ITV sitcoms. I'm assuming we're talking about the channel 3 in general, rather than ITV, sooo let's think...
Hmm, well, Bless This House definitely. Probably George and the Dragon. George and Mildred perhaps. Hell, even The Complete Guide to Parenting was rather damn good. And of course Two in Clover and Rising Damp, as mentioned. Actually rather more than one would have thought, particularly based on their recent output (or lackthereof). Really does say a lot, the age of the shows which we are talking about here.

(And speaking of Two in Clover, I spotted a signed Victor Spinetti auto-biography yesterday. Wondering whether to go back and buy a copy...)

The New Statesman

Bless This House

George And Mildred

Although these may be my top 3 ITV I not sure they would make it in to my top 100 all time.

PS never heard of “Two in Clover” so had to read up on it, sound good. pity it too old for a ITV3 repeat have to wait for ITV99 to launch.

Ah, The New Statesman. Of course. There's so many when one really thinks about it.

But they're still pretty much all 80s at the latest. ITV really lost the plot.

:O

I'm getting a little worried for you Aaron I think you might have lost the plot
:D

Anybody who didn't love that show didn't watch it in the right frame of mind! Absolutely brilliant. Almost certainly my new-sitcom highlight of 2006. Definitely in the top 3.

In the short time I have been part of BSG, I realised that I have never signed up to one of these questionnaires. Here goes.

1: Blunder.
2: Blunder.
3: Blunder.

Naa, only messing with you. Here's the real thing.

1: Just Good Friends.
2: The Good Life.
3: Doctor in the House.

1.) Rising Damp
2.) The New Statesman
3.) Outside Edge

Ummm... ITV? ;)

Baumski, The Good Life was on BBC

I'm really struggling to think of any.

No 1 - Definitely the New Statesman

No 2 - Definitely Rising Damp

No 3 - Errr...Probably Hot Metal, even though I don't remember that much about it.

Perhaps somebody should start a thread for the worst. I think a whole new website would have to be created for that one. Laughing out loud

I was going to say Rising Damp, Hot Metal, and the New Statesman! Someone got there first!

Just Good Friends was also BBC.

Manchild was on BBC2 or BBC1, it's being remade for the USA on Showtime.

BTW, i'm going to say the American Office, ha.
