Ashes To Ashes Page 22

All the reviews I have read thus far Observer, Times, Guardian and now The Sun have slated it. I have to agree. It was clumsy, obvious and a bit of a cliche.

This series has been over burdened buy lousy dialogue, supposed hot button issues and repetativeness (yes we get it Ray is a bit of a racist and Shaz wants a promotion).

Keets managed to remarkably give this turd a little gloss.

Firstly, who cares what reviewers say? I tend to go with my own opinion. Secondly, I obviously disagree; this third series of Ashes, for me, was very strong, the best of its run.

Because they're experts and always right.

You'd have open heart surgery performed by the man down the pub, because he liked Knightmare.

You do. When somebody was less than impressed with Kick Ass on this very forum you immediately started in about how many great reviews it had got.

Oh yes, what a hypocrite. I take it as a guide before I see something, but not to form my own actual opinion. I think someone said it looked shit, and I said it had got a lot of rave reviews, so it was probably worth checking out.

Was there really any need for you to wade in and try and get a kick in, Chip? Dear oh dear, too early for that, surely?

I forgot about that.

Not a dig, just pointing out an inconsistency in Stottland. :)

Well it's nice that you pay attention to my posts for future cross reference. And the reviewers turned out to be a bit wrong about Kick Ass, it was good, but not as good as the raves seemed to suggest.

I'm cursed with massive memory glands.

My word Matt you must have an easy job. I have no where near enough time in my hectic schedule to form my own opinions.

That's why I read the Sun, it tells me what to think and say.

I'm honking the sarcasm honker.

*HONK!*

Isn't that a rare bird? I shall be calling Bill Oddie and the RSPB.

As opposed to issues and character traits which are raised or referred to in one episode and never again? The series was fine. Not as great as some make out, but fine.

Which show are you referring to? It was fine as in good enough, as in mediocre.

Ashes To Ashes.

I meant which one referred to stuff and never raised it again?

Lost?

I thought the ending was very good and it was the only obvious conclusion to what had been building up throughout this series. Still think John Simm should have appeared at some point though, but I do kind of understand why they didn't bring him back, just disagree with it.

However, the series as a whole, although providing some good episodes (The army one with Ray was terrific) was fairly average I thought. Couldn't agree with Sooty more with regard to some of the dialogue, at times it was very cliched and clunky and the character development was slightly messed up. I'm still going to miss the show and like I said, they signed it off very well.
