Love The Daily Hubbub.

Does it look almost the same as the Daily Mash on purpose or by mistake?

The Daily Hubbub is a work of fiction and any resemblance to other websites, living or dead is purely coincidental. No animals have been harmed in the making of the site.

They are slightly similar I will grant you, but as they are both faux news sites written on open source CMS systems this is inevitable.

I hope you liked the content.

Is there a link or something? I don't have time to go around Googling things.

No, for the Daily Mash.

How many spoof news sites are there? There must be quite a few now.

Not sure I really want to drive more traffic to a competitor but since you asked so nicely.

There are indeed a lot of spoof news sites, some good some bad. We are hopefully in the some good pile.

I'm with Chip on this one. It seems like every other week someone's one here punting their news spoof website and they all sort of blend into one after a while. You've got some nice ideas here but what separates you from the crowd? Not a lot as far as I can see. I'd be tempted to go back to the drawing board and work out a way of making your site a bit more individual. Rethink the title for one thing - you look just like the Daily Mash so why go with a similar name as well? Believe me, I'd love to read the British equivalent of The Onion but the only thing I've seen come close is the Framley Examiner.

Thanks for the feedback. It is difficult to make a news site look unique as you can see if you look at the various newspapers and TV news pages on the net. We are focusing on the delivery of good original content at the moment, but eventually we hope to diversify. We have some really good ideas for the future but it is difficult to implement these until we get our readership up.

Hope all of you who have read our articles have enjoyed them. Catch today's article here http://dailyhubbub.co.uk/1103/next-queen%e2%80%99s-speech-delivered-by-twitter-to-reduce-costs/

Maybe your readership would rise if you offered them something fresh.

It is not like that at all. The site is good at the moment, and the more readers we get the better it will get. It is a struggle to find good writers to provide us with a new story every day, let alone starting to innovate.

Explain how more readers equals better material. And if you're struggling for writers, why don't you advertise here? Or did you already?

That makes some sense.

Or perhaps worry less about the 'daily' bit and concentrate on making it stand out from the crowd somehow.

Even a change of colour scheme would be a start - make it look more like the BBC news website or something.

There does seem to be quite a few spoof news sites popping up. What's needed is a step up from copying the Onion/Day Today style. A sort of Brass Eye if you will.
