That's not the English way.
Try spending an entire day outside when it's 92F/33C and there are 2 huge propane burners boiling 20-gallon pots of water and a BBQ grill blazing away. It makes for quite a sweat fest.

That's why we ditched the colonies. It's no place for a civilised Englishman.

Air conditioning makes it perfectly livable.

Cold beer helps. It helps A LOT.
Because it numbs you to the pain and the stress of the heat.
Much like death.
beer = death

Nothing too stressful about sitting on a chair and eating piles of food. No pain involved, either.
Beer = Life!

Beer = Belly.

It's not like you'll melt or anything.
One of the benefits of beer consumption is the need to make repeated trips to the blissfully air conditioned bathroom.
People smell in this heat.
Not me, obviously...
I like it when the sun comes out and people start getting a little bit 'loco'.
I walked past a woman today who was dancing to her ipod in the middle of Cheapside. She had a big grin on her face, loving the sunshine.
