British Comedy Guide

Just got my John Cleese tickets...

but have no idea what format it's all going to take. I hope it's not one of his workplace training videos.

I enjoy those.

Where are they bookable? There aren't any London dates are there?

This was the link I was sent chief:

Think that may be Bristol only.

It's June next year, and I know he's doing Birmingham but not sure of where else.

And I enjoy them too - not enough to pay £40 to watch a 71 year old go through them, mind

All the dates on SeeTickets.

*shakes fist at Cleese's tour manager or whoever else books locations*

I'm sure there'll be one or more London dates confirmed at some point. Too much dosh for him to make in the Capital for him not to.

True, true.

I read that he's just going to be stood on stage reciting the script to Fierce Creatures.

I'd pay to see that: I loved Fierce Creatures!

I've booked my tickets for the Bristol Hippodrome date. I don't care what format it takes it's John Cleese, one of the funniest men who ever lived. Saying that I was concerned that he might not live that long and by time June comes there maybe a cancellation. It sounds cruel but it's happened before.

The 70-year-old funnyman will do eight shows on his Alimony Tour and is planning to use the £12.2 million he was forced to settle on his American psychotherapist third wife Alyce Faye Eichelberger in 2008 as a source of new jokes. The Monty Python legend has previously said of the £8 million cash and assets and £600,000 for seven years his ex won: "I will be spending two months a year doing work that is of no interest to me and which is probably spiritually depleting in order to feed the beast. At least I know in future that if I go out with a lady she won't be after my money."

Crikey, talk about being taken to the f**king cleaners.

Tsk! He's not drinking, drugging or over-exercising himself to a premature death.

He'll be 71 by the time he'll take to the stage though.

That's still not that old in modern terms though.

My father is almost 74 and rides his bike 15 miles every day. He also goes to the gym twice a week, but that may only be an excuse to check out women.

I got my tickets for Cambridge a while back. Excited to see one of my comedy heroes live on stage.
