'Oh lets give it to Mexico for the 16th time, they're sexy people they are, they gave us the Mexican wave.' They make me puke!

Actually, those waves first started at American College Football games, back in the '60s.

When I was a goalkeeper I ... concentrated on the ball and watched which direction it went.

You heard it here first, folks!

Speaking of people not getting credit for starting things, has anyone seen that new Coke advert, on which Ian Wright describes Roger Milla's Italia '90 corner flag dance celebration as "Something no-one had seen before"? Well I'm sure he was just copying a similar corner-flag dance that had been performed by Brazil striker Careca, earlier on in that tournament, wasn't he?

3-2 (to Blackpool) at half time, an excellent match so far.

I'm supporting Blackpool as they're managed by ex Bristol Rovers man Holloway. Plus he's a funny man I'd like to see in the Premiership, plus he used to live by me. :D

Congratulations to Blackpool and Ian Holloway on reaching the Premiership. :D

Your avatar seems highly appropriate, Nil.

Agree that it's good to see one of the old greats back in the top flight. They have the history, a nice tangerine colour kit, and they have the venue. Away matches there will be weekend trips for a lot of fans. However, Cardiff must now qualify to be one of the unluckiest teams ever, getting so close to the prem on several occasions now. Their manager should definitely be coaching a premiership side, and I think he'll be targeted by a few clubs.

Were ITV using their own cameras at last night's Champions' League Final? I'm asking because of the way they seemed obsessed with only showing Jose Mourinho, when he and the Inter players were celebrating after the match. It's funny how Mourinho seems to get all the credit, when his teams win trophies. It's like the players don't matter. If Barcelona had won the trophy, the players would've got more of the credit.

He is a master of self promotion, I'll give him that.

I think it might be due to the fact that his teams play to the Mourhino system all the time, a sort of win at all costs, don't worry about entertainment system. So in a way, it's right that he gets most of the credit. He belongs in Italy, they like to play more attractive footall in Spain.

My World Cup preview:

Off to the Building Society in the morning to get a couple of hundred quid out.

I've just noticed I can get 10000-1 on a Ghana/North Korea final !

Nailed on that one !

Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal fail to find a way past Cape Verde

Let's all laugh at Ronaldo. Laughing out loud

I have put together a World Cup competition for BCG peeps. For those needing some help I've added a few hints to keep you in the running. :)

Assuming I've got the time difference correct the first match starts at 1500 UK time on Friday 11 June so please have your answers in my PM inbox before kick-off of the opening game.

I'll publish interim league tables after the group stage, the second round, quarter-finals and before the World Cup Final itself.

No prize but the satisfaction of the glory of taking part...unless someone wants to donate something. ;)
