Whenever we did major road trips as a kid, it was nothing for us to drive 8-10 hours a day.

Some stuff like Mad Men, The Wire and Curb, gets stuck in the schedules at around midnight.

Do you think it's because they aren't regular network shows?

Ooh, we appear to have gone 30 mins forward in time. Has that just happened?

I do 10-12 hours if I'm by myself. I like to cover at least 700 miles per day.

It takes about 13 hours to drive across Texas alone. I-10 is 880 miles long from the Louisiana to New Mexico border. This state is too freakin' big.

Google is being a bastard.

Ellie is hitting the 3pm lull! TIRED. *yawn*

Tell us about it. I've had to comfort myself with an Orange Tango.

I drove from Nottingham to Skegness (which is about 100 miles) took about 2 and a half hours, that about did me in to be honest! I'd have happily had another driver to take over for me.

Then again I have a shitty Fiat Punto as well.

A show's US origin has no bearing whatsoever on its broadcasts here. The only factor is its success and genre. If it's a big drama then it's more likely to be picked up by a mainstream channel, who will bugger it around and shift it to 1:35am broadcasts in order to show British programmes. If it's a sitcom or not quite as successful then it's more likely to get picked up by a specialist or otherwise more obscure channel, who'll give it a regular slot and plenty of repeats.
