Do you GROW? Page 10

Room for 200 maple trees in your garden?

You must be really poor.

Maple seedlings, and they're not exactly wanted. They're all where our rose bushes are, is guaranteed to be quite annoying.

Also, TN land prices!=London land prices. :P

Heh.

What's a whirly gig, by the way?

Maple seeds fly like helicopters.

Maple seeds, they rotate when they fall.

Ahhh I see.

Like, erm... sycamore trees. (I think)

Yep, zooo!

Woo! I dragged that from the recesses of my brain.

I planted a strawberry plant today.
Just call me Alan bloody Titchmarsh.

After three hours in the garden this afternoon I've discovered that what I grow is chiefly nettles the size of damned triffids.

Yikes.
That would be a scarier film, actually.

Pff! You'd be fine providing you had massive dock leaves.

:D

The flowers are just coming out on mine, with the strawberry's just starting to show. :)

Does anyone get a decent crop from their strawberry plants? Are they worth trying to grow or is there some knack for getting a good harvest?

Just watered my front garden as the sun doesn't get there till this afternoon.

Same here.

I separated some of the plants into their own pots & they've really flourished this year.

My plant is only about a foot long and wide, and I suppose I only get a handful or two a year (maybe more). But, it's still nice to have a treat every so often. Pleased

Aw, not enough for jam making then. My apple tree doesn't even grow edible apples.

I dug mine out from the hidden depths of the garden a few years ago and planted them in a pot. They didn't do very well, so stuck them into the herb patch and they've double in size. I think the problem was my pot wasn't big enough >_<

Also this year I thought they were growing exceptionally well, turns out they were being invaded by in posters, what I can only guess is some sort of wild mint. We have about four different types of mint here, and it gets everywhere.
