Did you think he was going to be behind the door at the end when Alex opened it? I did! :D I'll be surprised if he does appear, but very happy.

Noooo!!! Sam's Dead! That's the whole point of Life on Mars! Argghh!

This is he same world as Life On Mars, so he could still be alive there. You saw him go back there at the end of Mars.

Yeh but he died at the end, that's why you hear the monitor when the car drives away. Sam killed himself.

Yes, but that second could be years 'on the other side'.

With all this tiny text, it's like reading it as if it were written on Mars, or something like that...

Yes, but in whatever world Mars/Ashes is in, they live on. Sort of thing. That's the way I see it anyway.

This too.

I bet a lot of people stopped watching Ashes after the first series, which is a great shame, as it developed into a brilliant, brilliant show after that slightly underwhelming start.

Dude the guy is dead. The 70's existed in his head and so when he killed himself the reality folded.

That's why she came back in the 80's. There is no reason she'd come back there if it wasn't personal preference. Since she read the reports of Sam being in the 70's.

We don't know quite what is going on or what that world is yet!Whether it's individual to them, or if many people visit exactly the same place and could meet there even. We don't know yet! Mars didn't fully explain anything.

But there's nothing stopping Alex's imagination creating a Sam in the 80s world.
