Masters Degree In Creative Writing Page 2

Central School of Speech and Drama, you mean?
That one seems to be the most expensive, but I've never heard anything bad about it. I know a lot of famous actors/presenters went there to study acting but I don't have a clue who's studied writing there.

I think Goldsmiths does a screenwriting MA, but while I know their creative writing one is brilliant, I know nothing about that one. One to look into, maybe, if you haven't already.

I looked at doing one after speaking with Jude who made some really good professional contacts on the course but I really can't afford the £10,000. So I'm leaving it for now.

The one I'm looking at is £3,500. The only problem is that there is a compulsory poetry module as part of it, and I am utterly useless at poetry and I really fail so see what benefit it could be to me. But who knows, I could grow to love it... perhaps.

There are also screenwriting and theater modules which are of more interest to me. Anyway, I think I've decided to do it, you only live once as they say :)
Thanks everyone for your comments, now I have to see if they'll accept me.

Now they were sort of paragraphs weren't they Godot? Actually, looking back they weren't. :P

I had to do a little bit of poetry too. It was actually quite enlightening. Even though I generally despiiiise it. They tricked us into writing some in class by taking us through it step by step from a more prose/fictiony angle.

Don't despise poetry. In it's proper form it is a great discipline that informs every other - literary wise. As a writer of prose or scripts I mean.

It's a lot more powerful and relevant than I gave it credit for, I must admit.
