General Election 2010 Page 124

Glad to see you all have this part sorted out! Now the real challenge begins!

Hardly. Been Tory since I was born.

:O
There's still time for you though Ellie.

Incidentally, one of the things they were talking about on the news was that as part of the deal there will be fixed term parliaments of four years.

If that's the case, what would happen if a government lost a vote of no confidence?

I assume that the 'fixed term' deal is just that the PM can't can an election at a point when it's politically advantageous to them. Something like a vote of no confidence would still lead to the dissolution of Parliament.

About six weeks I reckon !

:D

Well they seem to have photographed it, whch I don't think they ever did before.

They did do it previously.

My word that's like finding out Konnie Huq has a cock and chest hair.

It's probably true.

Oh, and returning to the God awful prospect of England winning the World Cup, I've found in the past it helps if one has a small, say £20, wager on England winning. That way it's well worth it if they crash out and all the chavs cry, and if they should win, at current odds you can drown your sorrows with about £125 !

Why's an England football win so bad?

I'm younger; is there time for me? Pleased

Anyway:

Looks like the Great British Public are (finally) rejecting Lord Snooty and his Pals.

So, who's gonna be PM in the Lib/Lab mashup?

Quote: JohnnyD @ May 10 2010, 5:15 PM BST

Gordon, apparently. But just for a few months.

I wonder if Cameron will lead the Tories at the next election?

...

Why's an England football win so bad?

Aaron ! You of all people !

Stripped to the waist, drunken chavs chanting 'Ingerlund Ingerlund Ingerlund Ingerlund !'

Retards with St George's Cross flags on their cars which, most English people with half a mind knew for years was the flag of England, but which they have only found out in the last few years having waved the Union Flag before.

Barely articulate millionaires, WAGS, John Terry, Rio Ferdinand's mouth, Rooney and above all, in any sport you care to name, the absolute arrogance that finds it incredible that any other country dares to presume that they are better !

Get your £20 on Mate, it's worth it !

:D

All of that will occur with or without them even taking part, never mind winning. I don't care either way - and I don't have £20 to waste!

Quote: EllieJP @ May 11 2010, 9:12 PM BST

That's quite accurate. New born babies are very greedy, selfish and dictatorial. They would all vote Tory if you could tear them away from the tit.

Nah, if they had been knocked out in the qualifying stages, you wouldn't have been able to give a flag away.

Tell you what, I'll put £20 on for you but if they win, I keep half.

Quote: Godot Taxis @ May 12 2010, 12:33 AM BST

if you could tear them away from the tit.

Well, they've got two now !

:D

'Dictatorial' is an apt description of any politician or majority government, not just a Conservative or Conservative one. Except, perhaps, in Switzerland.

Perhaps - but still, at this point, win or lose all of that horrible hooligan and common-person-ism will still occur!

What would the winnings be?

About £125.

But if they lose, we may have to enter into talks about a coalition on certain items.

Nudge, nudge, wink, wink !

Ha ha! Well, how about you put the £20 on for me, and you keep £40 if it wins? Consider the extra bit a site donation... :D

Typical bloody Conservative !

80/40 on my risk ? I think not !

:)

Why aren't people furious about this? This is no good at all. To be democratic a coalition should include ALL parties.

A government made up of the party with the biggest share of the vote and the party with the lowest is ridiculous.

Bah! Go on then, your terms.
