My apologies then; you just seemed a little too defensive of the Labour position, too close to the ... well, delusion, that I see from Labour activists.

Ok, perhaps 'total' anihilation is overstating it a little, but at least comparatively, the Labour Party is not looking to be in a good place at all.

Apology accepted!

I agree - you would have to have rocks in your head to think Labour are doing at all well, but at the same time neither are the Tories. When you factor in everything - recession, unpopular government, Iraq, personal dissatisfaction with Brown, etc, etc - it must be pretty galling for Conservatives that they don't already have the thing in the bag. By rights they should be streets ahead but they aren't, and that says something as well. What it says, I have no idea.

All this running about all over the country, the poor buggers will need a month off to rest.

Be glad that your campaigns don't last for TWO FREAKING YEARS like our presidential campaigns do. Sick

Yeah, but who ever wins gets a nice rest before taking office. Our poor sod has to do all this crap and then stay awake all thursday, be nice the Queen and then start work.

I know one thing. Whoever does win, when they are just starting the most important job they will ever have, they're going to be bloody knackard. All this running about all over the country, the poor buggers will need a month off to rest.

Parliament isn't due to sit again until the 17th. Not that they'll be able to sit back and have BBQs and things in the week, but it won't be as high pressure as most weeks are.

Unless there's a Conservative majority, it's likely to be at least a week before we know who the PM will be - never mind him going to see Her Majesty the next morning!

Mmmmmm, BBQs...

Yeah, Obama has turned out to be even worse than I'd expected.

Actually he's one of your better ones. At least he doesn't embarrass you on the international stage.

His approval ratings are tanking, traditionally Democratic seats are being lost all over the country and he's been coddling the nation's foes while snubbing it's best allies - including your own country. Great job, dude.

So you're saying we might not even know who the prime minister is on Friday.

Damn I don't think I can take much more of this.

All of which makes you cock-a-hoop. You - and everybody on the right - were desperate for him to fail right from the start. And that's what's wrong with America nowadays, you have these two thick-headed powerblocks, the left and the right, that just want the other side to fail.

The country can go to hell in a handcart, but providing the other side are behind it, great! America will never get off its knees because Americans hate each other way too much to ever work together ever again. :)

Yeah I was just about to say, he's doing well in upsetting half the country, putting more republicans in the senate and generally worrying a lot of your old good folk that there's a revolution happening or something. Fair play to him for shaking things up like he said he would, BUT it seem's he's far too radical for the US - many voted him in on the mandate for change now seem to be bottling it when he keeps his promise to bring it to them. This isn't too harsh a reading is it?

Incorrect. I want our president and country to be successful. So far the president has made some incredibly poor decisions that fly in the face of the wishes of the majority of the American people. That's why his poll numbers are sinking and his party is set to lose seats in November.

And what the hell is a cock-a-hoop?

What you are! :P

Many of his promises are turning out to be empty ones. Transparency, fiscal responsibility and bipartisanship have all been lacking up to this point. The people who were on the fence politically, gave him a chance and now they see that he was just blowing smoke up their asses. Independents are abandoning the USS Obama as they realize that it's making a hard turn to port instead of taking a course up the middle.
