I read the news today oh boy! Page 120

Because a child, and an adult who has been put in a position to look after children, are two very different things.

We all agree there are a lot of horrible schoolkids who mistreat their teachers. But most teachers manage not to go mental and beat a kid's head in (and then throw the dumbell at another kid - which I hadn't noticed in the video until now.)

You've really been studying this video, haven't you, zooo? Errr

Ha, no, it just happened to come on the noooz on telly while I was posting and they had drawn a big red circle round it.

What about the cases where a child is bullied so much that he/she commits suicide?

But this teacher didn't commit suicide, or do anything to himself; he did it to others.
I think a better comparison would be with a child who is bullied so much that he picks up an AK47 and wipes out a few classmates.

I'm with you. Certainly the kid was 'orrible, and sure, teachers shouldn't have to put up with this, and yes yes, the poor guy had a terrible time of things, his wife was suicidal, his own kid had problems...but even so, beating a child on the head so hard as to fracture his skull whilst chanting "die die die!" is somewhat excessive even by supernanny standards. He *knew* he was liable to do this, because he had already voiced concerns about his ability to cope. He was a violent head-case who chose not to avoid the classroom, despite knowing he should.

He asked for help a break from the classroom none was forthcoming. His supervisor, the current education system that so utterly undermines teachers are all to blame.

Not a poor overburdened teacher.

And not the pupil, it's his job to be a little sod.

As far as I'm concerned, a mental health crisis is a mental health crisis.

But he bludgeoned a boy in the head screaming die die die.
The kids were arseholes, and something should definitely have been done about his situation way before he snapped. And yes I know he's got to 'live with what he did for the rest of his life' etc. But he can't just get off scot free.

Or is is scott free...

*wikis*

He probably deserved it - and the rest of his baying class mates filning it on their mobiles.

I agree.

You can't expect someone who has clearly stated they are failing to cope to make fully reasoned, conscious decisions, those who had the authority and their right minds should have acted to prevent him being found in this situation.

One of my old teachers punched a kid (in the stomach) about 10 feet across the classroom, because he pulled his tie, and the kid never went to the police, I think the kid in this case is just a bit of a whinger. (sorry about the punctuation, I've gone comma mad!)

Gross. Harold and Mawmaw.

I'd forgotten about that. Good film.

what do people make of mias controversial video?

personally I think most rap is bollox in and of its self

I don't think MIA's music deserves the label "rap".

The song is blah, but she's hot, and I did like the video.

Kids getting their heads blown off is always good to see.
