The Tories' Big Society idea is the biggest pile of wank ever. Just an excuse for them to do f**k all when they're in power.

But he is always bang on about the things he is right about and not a hypocrite when it comes to these things. He also has more guts, tenacity and morality I've ever seen in any politician since Tony Benn despite how self-aggrandizing he seems to be at times.
I think watching him being self-aggrandizing is a small price to pay.
He could have got in serious trouble about his protests, it took a lot of guts.
I would agree upto the point he took the fundamentalist coin of IFE to win his seat for Respect. He kicked out one of the most principled Labor MPs and did naff all to prevent plans for cross rail to gut his constituency (he was actually in the Big Brother house during the vote). He gives legitimacy to some of the scariest, most dangerous and anti Muslim voices in this country.
Respect is an abortion of a party. It has destroyed the legitimacy of socialist protest in this country for the forseeable future, all so he can a seat.
Quote: James Turner @ April 29 2010, 4:42 AM BSTTony Blair has sold his soul to the devil and he is damned forever (to quote George Galloway).
Here's a great vid of GG absolutely destroying an over-matched Sky News presenter. It's a bloodbath.
Whatever you think of Galloway, you've got to salute his indefatigability. There aren't many interviewers who get the better of him. Although my personal favourite of him was when he appeared before a Senate hearing in the US and absolutely murdered them.
He's a brilliant performer I've seen him live on the hustings. But like TBlair he takes all those skills and does nothing good with him. However talented he may be he has given some very dangerous people a foothold in our democratic system,
So Mrs Duffy, who's not a bigot but is a lifelong labour supporter, could well earn £250k next week. Way to turn her tory, Gordon!
Unlikely. Didn't the Sun interview her and consider her comments weren't lively enough? Doesn't sound like 250k to me.

It says that in the report there.

Yes, but she might make that money from modelling contracts with magazines like Nuts and Zoo.

I would never have said that because I'm far too gallant. Oh yes, I'm an old school gentleman.
On yesterday's incident regarding Gordon Brown and the microphone. Before yesterday I was either going to vote Lib Dems or Labour. Most likely Lib Dems. Yesterdays fiasco though has moved me even further towards the Lib Dems. To begin with Brown was wrong to call that woman a bigot. She's been a loyal Labour voter and just because she highlights a concern about immigration, that doesn't make her a bigot. Then the way he apologised to her, he said 'We had a misunderstanding'. Hardly a misunderstanding is it, you called her a bigot. Though not certainly, the chances are now extremely high the Lib Dems will get my vote. There also seems to be an arrogance about this current Labour party that I don't like.
I don't honestly know why any of them would want to win the next election. They're going to have to make such staggering cuts they're going to be massively unpopular. Next Thursday's prize is the ultimate poison chalice.

Rather agree. Mervyn King's said that the cuts necessary will be so unpopular as to put the party out of power for a generation.
