Ellie thinks the moon landings were staged? Oh dear.

Yep.

Same as my daughter !

Nothing will convince her otherwise.

I have pointed out that it would only take one of the hundreds or thousands of people who worked on the project to open their mouth for the biggest payday of their lives to come forward, but she won't be persuaded.

But you seem to support Labour, so there's a precedent of insanity in the family. ;)

Whats the point in a payday if you get shot the day afterwards?

If that were to happen, there'd be no way the Government could continue with the pretence that it were real. And once one person had come out about it, no matter the consequences or not, others would follow.

Cheap shot !
:D

Dallas Clouds look more normal I guess.

And Pauls pulling a semi all nighter studying up on bespoke software forms and processes that are used in the construction industry.

I'm so bored I might have a little cry.

Good luck with that.

Well yes, I guess I agree.

What always gets me about the moon landings is the sheer level of technological achievement that has never since been anywhere neared touched by NASA or anyone else.

I won't bore you with a list of things that has to happen to get a man to the moon and back. Some of these things if you consider them on there own might just seem to be impossible. Taking off from the surface of the moon and docking with another craft is one example.

Hiting the atmosphere at the right angle to avoid burning up is another.

It's down to money and risk.

Back in the 60s the cold war was raging and this was a way to prove to the Russians America could do anything which promoted the outweighing of risk and also throwing every single cent they had into the space programme.

It's not about technology at all really.

I always found this fact interesting, the Apollo 11 spacecraft had the computing / processing power of a modern digital watch or an old mobile phone, amazing what they managed to do with such limited resources.

Good luck with that.

Already getting distracted... :P

But its the mechanical engineering behind it.

True, complicated but they still had a lot of computer concerns, like guidance, navigation and not to mention the general use in the command module itself.

Landed in San Antonio. It's hot!

Clouds?

I'm sure I read/heard somewhere once, that if Apollo was 99.99% perfect on lift off, there were 15,000 parts malfunctioning !
