Nice thread: I'll have to check out 'Mr Show' and 'Whitest Kids U Know'.
I'll put forward the 'Going for an English' sketch from 'Goodness Gracious Me'.

Mitchell & Webb's sketch below comes close in my opinion: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B80SyRmtbdI
Great concept taken to an extreme. And then, when you think it's over, the exaggeration goes further and further and becomes completely ludicrous. It's awesome.

For the oldies amongst you Morecambe and Wise 'Singing in the Rain' and 'Breakfast Stripper'.
Ah, Going for and English is a classic - and yep, I like that M&W one too. Weird though, int it? As a sketch, I mean. Multi-location, a massive story condensed into 3 and a half minutes but damned good. I'm much more a fan of their radio stuff, but that one and the recent one with the guru/type philosopher on top of a column are grand.
The Stripper's got to be right up there.

Never seen that before - very good indeed. The only thing to my mind that would improved it would be for them not to have played all four parts themselves as it created a couple of moments of confusion where laughter should have been. Too bad the sketch went to a double act and not an ensemble.
You're bang on the money there, Bussell
