Well said. Brilliant example. If it's ok for them, why is it not ok for all? Really does not make any sense.

Oh this I agree on. There is no proof that MAF is in anyways antisemitic and it was their call.

I was thinking more that I want to ban Burqas. With out banning ninja fancy dress costumes.

We're in it up to our necks now. Why did Cameron say he won't give us a referendum now? He's crazy, most of Britain wants to be out of Europe and independent again. That is a massive vote winner and he bottled it !!?? Too much pressure from big businesses maybe? Something's stoppig him.

No statistical proof of that. Though I think Brown bottled the referendum on the increase in power as he would have lost.

I think most people get the idea that we'd be broke pretty fast outside of the EU.

Why ban them? I find them no more offensive than some scruffy oik in a baseball cap or hoodie.

Not so much for adults. But for kids to grow up unable to do PE, or learn to deal with being seen by their peers, in every way to be separated by society.

I can't think of a better way of utterly indoctrinating people into being fundamentalist/second class citizens. As for adults there's a host of good reasons for banning people making themselves unidentifiable.

Chip sometimes you have to opress people to make them free.

That wasn't the referendum that he was promising.

Why ban them?

This coming from the man who is perpetually checking out pretty women? Imagine how much more difficult that would be if they were all encased in a black hole of fabric.

And definitely should be banned amongst public service workers, particularly teachers.

FUCK OFF REFERENDUMS!

We vote for politicians so that we don't have to piss off down to the poling station every week to make decisions that the people we put into power should make for us!

You'd be surprised how hot a woman's eyes can be. And there's something quite sexy about a woman inhibited by her religion. Oh, and if they want to follow that religion I have no problem with it.

The idea that our creaking system of voting should apply to all decision is daft. If a politician is going to make a fundamental irreversible change to the nature of our country, without going back to the people is wrong.

We elect people to positions of power so that they may take responsibility, make laws, and run the country. We do NOT elect people to positions of power so that they can give that power away and fundamentally change the nature of our government.

Yeah, I can barely contain my excitement about their barely contained sexuality ...

I agree.

But you can see why this would work as a targetted, cultural specific ban.

But would be pretty unworkable as a blanket ban.

What big changes are going to be made that's going to alter our lives irreversibly? None. Eurosceptics - and they're the ones banging on about referendums endlessly - are great at hysterical rhetoric, but not so great at reality. I remember in 2001 William Hague going round the country on a the back of a lorry telling anybody who'd listen that if they voted for Blair the pound would be gone within five years. Well, people voted for Blair and the pound's still here nine years later. So's Britain.

But its not Great anymore. :(

I wasn't thinking of the european referendum specifically.

More that we should become a republic. I want to know the country is behind it when we execute the queen.

That's not to do with the European Union, though.
